All alone at work

No one gave me official permission to not be at work today, but there's nobody around. I came in extra early because on Fridays the café does a really nice cooked breakfast which I was looking forward to. But they're closed :( I have coffee making supplies, and lucky I brought my Switch, I guess I'll hang out in the café seating all day and play breath of the wild. I wish I had brought my computer, then I could do something useful!! I am glad I finish at 1 on Fridays otherwise I think I'd go crazy. If anyone wants to talk to me on discord I'll be available for.... the next 5 hours or so

@Olmectron that sucks they don't let you work from home :(
I hope you don't have to travel too far to get there! On the plus side can you bring your kid to work when you need to, since there's no one there to mind?

@Quantumcat Yep. While I don't do it that much, I've brought him with me at times when family hasn't been able to take care of him. But it's been only three times so far since mid-November.

Not much work to do anyway (app maintenance, it's not as hard as it sounds for apps with less than 100 concurrent active users per day); so those days, I could play something with him while being here.

Other days I'm usually lurking in GBATemp and/or learning more about web apps. It's an intriguing thing (the development of web apps) I haven't been able to play with while working, just outisde it.

Yeah there's an annual cull around where I live. The animal rights people protest it heavily but being shot has to be better than starving to death when there's too many of you and not enough food. The scariest thing about riding a motorcycle is the possibility of a kangaroo jumping out in front of you and killing you
Kangaroo also tastes pretty good, but it is a bit dry and needs a lot of oil

I tried some kangaroo meat and it was awful.

Also I love being alone at work. Mm. So nice having the office to myself. It's never quiet. Maybe once every few months.
