1) It's VGChartz so obligatory "lol vgchartz"
2) .86 million is dismal considering how huge the install base is for the Wii
Xenoblade was a swan song rpg for Wii released in the states just last year. A niche genre on a dying console and it still managed to sell 357,722 stateside which is more than your average JRPG on PS3.

Nintendo is also desperate for Wii U titles right now.

So they would spend resources to port a RPG that didn't really sell well, was only released to not piss off the core Nintendo crowd and only core Nintendo fanboys would give a shit? I like the game, I really do but there really isn't much business sense for Nintendo to do a HD port of it. If Nintendo was desperate they would just HD up another Zelda title, or Mario Galaxy or ANYTHING else that did sell.

Your logic would make sense if they weren't already blowing millions on the development of Bayonetta 2 which sega refused to touch because they knew it was a toxic investment.

Not really, Bayonetta at least sold a lot more and the sequel was already in deep development before Nintendo took over publishing rights. PlatinumGames are the ones who are mainly putting all of their work and resources into it so if it bombs, not much of a loss to Nintendo other than promotion. Bayonetta 2 is more of a statement that Nintendo is interested in bringing core titles to core gamers and its a sequel that a lot of people have been asking for. While I can't see it doing quite as well what with it being on one console and people are butthurt that it is on Wii U and not on the others, it'll still make a profit for Nintendo.

Anyway I would love to stay up and argue about how you are wrong but you know...I don't want to?

http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?nam...PS3&genre=Role-Playing&minSales=0&results=200

Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Valkyria Chronicles all sold more in the US and are from Japan.
Those aren't average, they are are top tier sellers. Factor in all the other JPGS and the numbers tend to average around 200-300k.

Platinum Games already confirmed the game didn't go beyond the drawing board before they got the green light from Nintendo. The game is still in very early wire frame stages of development right now.

So Xenoblade Chronicles sold well in comparison because if you average out the bagillion other PS3 RPGs it did better than some of them? According to VGChartz?

Sorry but your argument ain't very strong. And if a JRPG sells that poorly in Japan then there's something very wrong.

In Japan there was alot of protests and anger over the platform choice for Xenoblade, kind of like how Americans reacted to Bayonetta 2 on Wii U.

Then how would it be much better with a HD version for the (currently) poorly performing Wii U?

Like there's little reason they'd reinvest in Xenoblade HD. Hell I'm surprised they're bothering with X.

Nintendo wants core gamers back and Reggie "loved the game"

I suppose those two reasons might be enough.

It depends if you put marketing behind it, Fire Emblem Awakening they can't even keep on shelves.

...Which is a big name game by Nintendo. Having their characters in the past two SSB games also helps.

Like whether you like Xenoblade or not is a different story but it's not a successful game. Game sales don't dictate game quality.

A market push behind a game like Xenoblade, or its sequel X could go over well. Also they could probably do some promotion by putting the characters in the next SSB game.

@K3Nv2 I got some cheapies at wallys, that are pretty good, already have lost a few expensive ones (one falls out and gone, can't find) while cutting grass so bought some cheap ones, and of course never lose these cheap ones. (Cheap meaning only $35, compared to air buds which I only have 1 of 2 now)
