Gaming Xbox 360 SATA drive USB problem

Me and my friend tried to hook a 360 hardrive to our computers using a SATA usb cord. as soon as we plugged it in the computer went black, and now when we turn it on, none of the usb drives are working. this happened to two computers. anyone else have this problem and do you know how to fix it?

also the 360 hd isnt working.
