The following is wrote around the disc on the back in various sections:

  • WUP-P-AMKP-03 JPN S0
  • 515D1503
  • IFPLLL39

On the front of the disc in the bottom middle it shows:
  • WUP-P-AMKP-EUR MODEL NO. WUP-006(EUR) ©2014 Nintendo Co., Ltd.
Thanks for so much info! So its the third revision of the disk.

Is it definitely the Mario Kart 4.0 update on the disk, and not 4.1? I only ask as 4.1 was released only a week after the 4.0 update.

It's definitely the 4.0 update, I remember looking up what the latest update was, then been surprised I could still play online fine despite not been on the latest version of the game.

Do we have any information about the buddles? For example the basic white wii u with the skylanders trap team, if don't use the disk, what firmware does it have preinstalled?

Also is it worth it to buy a used wii u in version 5.0.0 for future Homebrew usw?

1) No, ask around and there's your answer, usually it's the last firmware or two from when the bundle came out. See: http://wiiubrew.org/wiki/System_Software
2) No, 5.0.0 is majorly obsolete now. Just find something on or below 5.3.2 and use a disc to update.

Okay, so 3.0.0 seems to be impossible as a disc upgrade. (And WiiUBrew lacks information about the browser versions on 3.0.0/3.0.1)

So, does it make much of a difference to go to 4.1.0 or 5.3.2 at this point? (For the Kernel exploit/other exploits)
As I already have to go past 3.0.0 for it. :(

Any suggestions from the devs working on libwiiu? @Marionumber1 @NWPlayer123 @Hykem

4.1.0 or 5.0.0 would probably be the most reliable browser exploit you can run. 5.3.2 is reliable as soon it works once, but it may take a while to reach that point.

Sadly for anything that doesn't have a scene release we can only try or guess.
There currently aren't any Japanese scene releases.

I'd guess it doesn't have 5.4.0, you can always not do the update too.
Just to answer my own question in case anybody else is wondering, I can confirm that the Japanese version of Yoshi's Wolly World does not ask to update to 5.4, meaning it presumably has the same requirements as the western version.

How can I check the firmware of my disk before I stick it in the Wii U? I just bought Super Smash Bros but I'm not sure which firmware it has. I also have other games I'm not in a hurry to play so it'd be nice to play them in increasing firmware order when I get to them.

Can anyone with the Splatoon 5.3.2 disc post the number above their scan bar on the back of the box? (For example 82909A).

My US copy of Deus Ex: HR came with 3.1.0 on it, maybe the same for the euro ?

Edit: sorry I misread the post.
