Hi,

I just wanted to note on an minor error I stumbled upon.

The Nes game "Mermaids of Atlantis ( U )" results in a grey screen and is unable to boot.

I don't know if it is fixable but, Total Recall ( U ) for Nes is extremely glitched and therefore unplayable.

Anyway, thank you for your awesome work!

Both of these appear to be working correctly for me. Please confirm that you don't have bud dumps.

Thanks.

Could be, but they are working fine in FCE ultra GX. Hence the reason why I posted....

I looked into Mermaids of Atlantis to see why one version was working and the other wasn't. It turns out that the non-working version is set to use mapper 8, while the working version is using mapper 79 (NINA-06) which is the version that documents state should be used for the game. That is the only difference between the two, the mappers.

Not sure why it is working in FCE ultra GX, but it appears the correct mapper should be 79.

Also, just checked out Total Recall, and it appears there are also two different versions, again with differences in the header. One is set to use Vertical Mirroring (which is what it should be set to), the other is set to use Horizontal mirroring which would account for the glitches you are seeing.

Can someone post a vid of the forwarder?

Nice one raz0red for the real time rewind feature. Are you planning on adding the Snes core soon? and a random question, would porting Picodrive be possible on the Wii? (not necessarily added as a core to Mednafen but as a separate port) It works well on PSP and I think it has already been ported to other devices.

Here's a quick vid I shot with my phone awhile back. There's an updated forwarder with the new release that includes MegaDrive on the banner.

Here's a Dolphin Screenshot with MD in the Banner.

Does the Megadrive/Genesis use the same code ekeeke implemented in his most recent version? And how's the GBA emulation this time around?
I feel Genesis slightly faster than eke-eke emu (not sure if is the same engine though) the only drawback is the lack of GameGear, GBA emu is better than Visual Boy Advance, it's even better when you use own GBA bios, at least I got better results that way with Metroid Fusion.

Nice release and nice changes, I updated the first post :)

Both emus are running fullspeed to me, both keeping a steady 60ps and I cannot see how one could run faster than the other unless it is skipping frames...

As for Mednafen, from the source code, it is based on the original Genesis Plus code, but is missing the later improvements from eke-eke. I think the differences are within accuracy, genplus-gx core having more accurate sound & video emulation, though I guess it only affects a few games most people won't notice anyway. But overall, Mednafen is a damn good multi-platform emulator and it's wonderful it finally got ported to Wii in such brilliant way !

One thing I noticed about mednafen Megadrive is that it wouldn't play my .smd files, only .bin. GenPlusGx does. I think I only have a handful of games in that format, but Fist of the NorthStar is one of 'em!

I think he's gonna implement the newer GenplusGX code in the near future, I think (on the google code page)

GameGear IS supported also SG-1000 roms are playable!

The "virtual" games like virtual racer aren't playable and Thunderforce IV has some framerate issues.
