Hardware Wii fit meter and syncing

Has anyone tried to get the data from the pokewalker (ahem, Wii fit u meter) to an online service of somekind? Preferably without the Wii U? I would like to sync my steps with Google fit.

Not that I know of, but the device communicates through IR. I was working on the pokewalker, but gave up since I didnt really know how to capture IR data too well

I guess probably the first step would be getting the information off of wii fit u then...
