I agree to this 100%. There can be no better reason for this. Second, there's gonna be some updates to it like multiplayer. It's not just a simple port.

Implying nesDS doesn't have multiplayer support.

Because 3DS is a much more capable system than the DS and If anyone it's Nintendo that know their system upside down ;]

3DS has a better resolution than the DS for better emulation.

Does that Virtual Console GBA emulator has RTC built-in?
And does the 3DS have a solar sensor?

Dude it's not out yet, how would we know ? But I assume RTC will be built in. the 3DS has an internal clock...

3DS has a IR port, could it be used like a solar sensor? No, really, I have no knowledge about this things, does anybody know if an IR port can sense the amount of sun light?
Maybe they'll use it with a 3DS Boktai xD
Anyway, Boktai would never be emulated officially, all of the gba boktai use the solar sensor.. but if you inject a patched rom, you can probably play it. I played Boktai with a patched rom and emulator, it feels a little like cheating, but it's the only way without the cartridge.

On the other hand, DS runs GBA games in their native resolution, pixel-perfectly.
On 3DS, you'll have some blur applied, just like when DS games are ran.
