Are you using emunand?

If so, boot up into sysnand. Update to 10.7. Open eshop and setup your NNID. Restore your sysnand using the previous back-up(optional).

Emunand eshop is now fixed. It broke when your formatted NANDS to unlink them.

The process can be reveresed is using sysnand instead of emunand.

I'm with updated sysnand in 10.7, i don't have emunand anymore on my sd card. Can i restore a nand without a9lh installed, format it, and follow again this guide from the beginning?

If its emunand I would think its the same process as with menuhax. As the emunands are the same. I would back up ur region changed emunand and restore it to the emunand once ur done. When the guide tells you to inject emu/rednand into the sysnand don't, just restore ur 9.2 sysnand. When you boot the cfw make it use emunand(if using cakes) or don't select sysnand mode(aureinand).
I've been meaning to ask this, I installed a9lh before rednand was a thing. What is rednand. I remember it was the first cfw. Why is it back now? what's the difference between it and emunand?

You can still use Gateway (menuhax, browserhax, etc) after installing A9LH
Okay, but why, there is no homebrew worth messing with and since I'm on 4.5 it's not worth any risk of bricking or wasting the time for what is essentially no added benefits.

Oh hey I can boot directly into hax awesome... But yea unless someone can give me a damn good reason (and don't throw the gateway website being down at me) I'm quite comfortable where I am.

But honestly I would love for someone to give me a good reason because right now I see none

How about ridding yourself of the worrying of accidentally updating sysnand?

Well, the thread asks "Why aren't you using it". Because I can't?

I have a 2DS. :P

I've set up 3 2ds's...it's very much doable. Follow instructions as if it was an o3ds..about the only thing that's different is you get some weird screen stretching when you're in 2.xx (this is a well known thing, and documented in the guide even - also it only impacts the top screen).

finally, i restored my nand to 9.2 without a9lh, updated it, formatted it, and finally, i began to follow Plailect guide from the beginning. I'm right after the downgrade, but i'm wondering if i have to not set a NNID, or set a NNID, or if it's not important. Can anyone tell? ^^

I'm nervous about bricking my N3DS, have been waiting for the process to "settle" as it were (so that guides and tools used during the process wouldn't change part-way through following a guide), and also haven't been able to find the time to do it. All those NAND backups are time-consuming, you know.
I'm definitely going to do it soon, though. Maybe tonight, even. My N3DS is still under warranty, so...

Trust me, at this point, unless there was a button that you press that makes everything automated, it's not gonna "settle" anymore. It does take quite a while for the first time, but it's for safety of course. There's not a high chance of bricking at all.

not important. following the plailect guide will preserve the NNID link if the 3DS was already signed in to nintendo network before you began. you can sign in to nintendo network before or after. it doesn't really make any difference.

only advantage of NOT signing in beforehand would be in the small chance that you accidentally brick the 3DS, you have no intention of unbricking it, AND you have already purchased eShop games on the NN account. in that event, it's kind of a hassle to call nintendo to ask them to divorce your NNID from the bricked 3DS, so you can regain ownership of those games on another 3DS. but that is an inconvenience which comes with any kind of loss or failure of the 3DS console, not only with a botched a9lh install.

Well... I took the plunge. It all went pretty smoothly! I'm really pleased~
