Hacking which games come bundled with update 4.5.0?

Use 3DS Update Checker from eponymous thread http://gbatemp.net/threads/3ds-update-checker.352412/ to find out which firmware update is embedded in a given .3ds ROM dump.

Hasn't someone reported that both of them have 4.5 firmware partition?

Sorry for the double post, but just want to share this with ya'll. I confirm, Shin Megami Tensei IV (US) forces an update to 4.5.

I've tried myself. I wanted to keep the game sealed, but anyway that was the only game I have that could work updating my 3DS to 4.5. So I opened it and tried it.

So if you have this game, enjoy ! Don't forget to turn off the wifi, the update is inside the game.

5.1, sorry dude, since the Animal Crossing bundle is on 5.1 and the save is different from other games, that's why it doesn't work with this one.

I have seen many people saying it. And I think it is actually written on the Gateway official webiste, Mario and Luigi won't work as well^^

Curios in the OP it says it will tell you what version a cartridge is going to update you to but in reading the update agreement I did not see it anywhere. I used Mario Sticker to get to 4.3 and I have Dark Moon USA......can someone confirm that this updates to 4.5?

I don't think Animal Crossing is 5.1. The 3DS XL that comes with the bundle is 5.1 but I play the game on my 4.5 3DS XL without issues. I think I got 4.5 from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon since it was the only update I ever installed on my 4.5 and below 3DS.

Please somebody confirm. There is no rom dump of the US version, but I'm sure smbdy who bought it can confirm.

According to Gateway, Your 3DS should show the version of the update the game will install in the update message.
Make sure you double check the update version message before going ahead with the update.
(Does anyone have a picture of the update message that I can link here as an example?)

Just an FYI. You DO NOT need an original game to update to 4.5. Just used a Luigi's Mansion dump to update to 4.5 and it worked perfectly. Gateway and OG games are working fine after the update.

It will ask to update to 5.1. You can decline.
