Do you have some problems with the saves?

No trouble at all so far. The previous owner said he only installed 3 games on it though. I've saved probably 20 times so far and everything is working perfectly. I was just curious if the new update in the OP meant we no longer have to worry about eeprom = yes vs eeprom - no?

Ok, no worry if its eeprom no or yes

The only problem some People have its the saves with the 10+ games. (saves are gone after you play another)

So I picked up a second hand red button for $25. I put two backups on and they seem to play fine using DW 1.05 and template1225. Both of them say eeprom = yes. Is this correct, or should they all say = no? So far so good, though. I'm loving it.

yes this is fine. but it also depends on the game. some will say yes, some will say no. as long as you have no issues with saving you're good to go.

Use the latest cracktool v1.06, it will patch games and saves are now 10MB. You can backup & restore them without any problem.

Anyway to stop the blue led always blinking when PLAYING the +10 games?
Played smash bros for 3 hours and the 3hours led blinking hurt eyes :/

Thanks, tool works great...setup my bro-inlaw and his kid.
I pretty much run everything through it Yes\No...whatever.
Simple to apply and works.

Red button users require additional MicroSD card(s) to make game selection simple.
The first 10 games you burn will be SD#1 and will play and save fine, press the red button to cycle games, press A to load.
Additional MicroSD cards (with 10+roms) will play and save fine, will auto-cycle, press and hold red button for 5 seconds, press A to load.
Red button users should prepare additional MicroSD cards (#2,#3,#4,etc...) as follows:

Run all roms through Sky3DScTool_v1.0.6_EN:
http://filetrip.net/dl?rqXFvcwoaD

Make any template edits Sky3DScTool_v1.0.6_EN suggests using the latest tempate0105.txt:
http://filetrip.net/dl?7meodw9V8c

Burn all roms to MicroSD card(s) using DiskWriterV105.exe:
http://filetrip.net/dl?omo4fYauJG

Works great...I think this is as good as it can get.

So the latest crack tool is worth it? I noticed in the changelog they didn't even change much. If it works then i'll update method 1.

Yeah it's worth it, no errors with "game cannot be started" No issues...work, play, and save great.

-Game not found in resource data yet? Make your own template.
Build your own templates for sky3ds:
http://filetrip.net/dl?vBHqt3NOoQ

-Play all current 3ds homebrew like blargSnes, Mario all stars works great (9.2 or below).
Install homebrew launcher via cubic ninja rom for fast homebrew loading (especially if cubic ninja is on it's own MicroSD card) takes just seconds to load homebrew:
http://smealum.net/ninjhax/

-Snes emulator for 3ds that works very well.
blargSnes:
http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/BlargSnes

-Backup retail carts, Backup NAND, Restore NAND, Downgrade to 4.5 and run CFW (9.2 or below).
Install Launcher.dat via recent gateway browser exploit:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/gateway-3-0-ultra.378041/

Red button sky3ds has proven itself as a great cart...It just took some months.

The only thing I'd do differently...Burn the worst games, games you'd never play, as your first 10 games on SD#1.
Obviously, since your never going to play those games cuz they suck, you can now go ahead and format SD#1 and now all MicroSD cards will behave the same with the auto-cycle feature (up to 31 roms each).

With that said, I think Red Button Carts are superior to Blue Button Carts, since pushing that button every time to cycle games is very taxing on the Red/Blue button (there is no rewind) only forward cycling, also push button cycle is very slow. Auto-cycle is much quicker, much less taxing to the Red/Blue button, and just as effective.

This new Gateway stuff also looks interesting for us Red card users (providing 9.2FW) namely retail cart dumping, and other things I'm still trying to wrap my head around.

Proud, Red Button Sky3ds owner!

Hold the button down as soon as the title screen for the eleventh game appears, before the light turns back on.

Anyone willing to help a newbie out? This thread is a little confusing to me..

I purchased and received the following today:
- a Sky3DS, red button
- a 32GB microSD card (Kingston)
- a 16GB microSD card (SanDisk)

So, the idea was to use the 16GB card as my "golden", first card to install the first 10 games on - then use the 32GB card for additional games (it seemed logical to use the larger card for this, as it could contain more data/games). What exactly should I do now?

I know the OP said that I'd need Diskwriter v1.05 and template1225.txt.. but there are newer ones out by now (as of today: Diskwriter v1.06 and template0119.txt); should I download those, or go for the outdated ones? Also, there is no template1225.txt on the SKY3DS website at all, the closest one would be template1222.txt - where do I get the one mentioned in the OP?

Will the games on the "golden" card be rendered unplayable by using a second card for more games? I ask this, because it's mentioned a lot that it's adviced to only put games you'd never play on the first card - although I've read elsewhere it's better to put the largest games on the first microSD because they'd work better. Not too sure which way to go.

With the new Diskwriter update (*if* I should even use that one), is the 31 game limit solved? Or should I still only put 31 games on the 2nd microSD card? And how do I calculate how many games would fit on an 32GB one.. I suspect save data also needs some free space, so only accounting for the game sizes seems a little.. too simple, perhaps? Maybe I'm overthinking it.
