I say get a PSP and play your PS1 games through that using popsloader.

EDIT: There is always the use of a PS1 Emulator where you can play it on your computer. Just buy a PS1 controllor and something that can connect it to the computer via a USB port and set up the controller. Way cheaper than buying one though i doubt buying a PS1 is even expensive.

Don't get a swap disk.
If you get a psx/psone get SCPH-900x or SCPH-10x
x= the number for your country
Way better lasers

Some gamers use the systems to play games that the system was made for.
I has a PS1, PS2 and PS3 hardware backward compatible (BC)
I use my PS1 for PS1 games
My PS2 for PS2 games
My PS3 for PS3 games
I don't use them to play Audio CDs, DVD movies or Blu-ray movies.
This will prolong the life of the system, plus the BC is not perfect and some games will not work.

You sir have entirely missed the point of the PS3 saying it does EVERYTHING!!! (even your own mother O_O)

I'd suggest a PS2 still. Then you can play both kinds of games, PS1 and PS2.

ps2 has incompatibility with some ps1 games. hell, my ps2 cant even read ps1 games

chipping a ps1 is the easiest thing to do, i did it with minimal soldering practice beforehand, just be sure to know how to tin wires and hold the iron and you should be a-ok

What? No it doesnt. The PS2 plays all PS1 games. Every PS2 I've ever owned plays every single PS1 game I put in it, that may just be your PS2.

The PS2 will load all PS1 game to the Start menu. There are Save bugs and emulation bugs with some games when you get further along.

Really now? I'd like to hear some of these as I've never heard of this before. I've never heard of anyone having issues with any PS1 games on their PS2s. Examples would be quite helpful as I'd like to research further into the subject.

if you dont think wikipedia is credible
http://us.playstation.com/news/consumerale...retitles_75001/

also, maybe shouldve been more precise, my ps2 cant read burned cds (game or audio)
tongue.gif
, it can play my originals fine
even then there is a workaround, just need to set the thing to debug mode every time, then they read

But when you say 'prolong the life' that must be by what? Less than a year?
