I just installed my sx core and its working. Its my first ever soldering work. Didnt even practice xD. The solder points were tiny as hell. I didnt think it was going to be that hard. I used tons of flux and just solder at 350ºC. gg

Got the core working after the first try!
A friend soldered it under a microscope, he recommended 330*C as soldering temperature.
This evening I'm reassembling everything. I can't find kapton tape so I'll be using teflon tape to protect the SP1 and SP2 solders.

I remember to have read that SX OS on emunand has Incognito on by default? If I would boot into OFW could I get seasonal updates in animal crossing with relative safety? Does it remove the device info somewhere?

From your Picture, it looks like your ancher points were not soldered to the shielding-frame.

Only the NRO of Incognito works for SX Core right now.

I used the double sided tape method from one of the installation videos a few pages back.

What does nro stand for? I can't find much on google.
edit:
It's stealth mode (no connection to nintendo servers) that is on by default on SX OS CFW.
Still learning the ins and outs of this thing ;)

I would always attach the anchor points no matter if I use double sided tape or not. As far as I remember they are also used as Ground for the ribbon (and some of the components?). This may not be necessary, but it's kind of designed like this and I am better safe than sorry.

I found it worked well for me to solder the caps first, and then soldered the anchor points last to lock everything in place. The stickiness of the residual flux did a good job of holding everything in place so I didn't need double sided tape.

I found that a cocktail stick with a flattened point and soaked in IPA did a decent job of getting rid of paste from around the caps, but go gently.

Placed my order, hopefully delivery won't be too long then sending it off for installation. Takes me back to my original Xbox and PS2 chip times :)

Dammit, I think I forgot to add extra thermal paste between the heatsink and the backplate shield.. I got it between cpu and cover and between cover and heatsink. I don't want to open it up again since I think I started to strip one of the tiny black screws on top of the case.
Does the switch control the fan speed based on cpu temp?

Hi everyone,
Decided to share my happy installation of SX core that arrived yesterday. Installed today at some local phones repair store for something like 7$, but i disassembled switch beforehand and cleaned it from thermal paste.
