Pratically, every Nintendo videogame have backward compatibility, GBA loads GB games, DS loads GBA games and 3DS loads DS games, but will Switch load 3DS or Wii U games?
Here's a photo of the ''airport guy'', and how u can see, he's introducing an cartridge on the Switch.

How we can see, this isn't an 3DS cartridge, but 3DS loads DS games, and they don't have the same shape.
[IMG] How we can see here, they pratically have the same shape, but the 2 cardtridges enter in the same slot.

Maybe, the Switch will load the 3DS and ''Switch card'' in the same slot or in different slots, like in DS.
[IMG] What do u think about this?

I believe Nintendo stated there was no backwards compatibility, although I could be wrong about this.

Well, i think they PROBABLY don't will backward Wii U games, but probably the 3DS or Wii U games from the eShop, no?

Wait. How do you plan to play a dual screen game on the switch? But really, a way that would legitimately work and Nintendo would be willing to implement.

It will be fine. Snes didn't have backwards compatibility to nes and n64 didn't have backwards compatibility to either. People just got so used to it these days to the point where when nintendo doesn't have backwards compatibility everyone freaks out.

Probably if they make a 3DS backward, they will just allow 3DS games it can use the D-Pad to use the ''down screen'', like Bravely Default, u can control the menu with the D-PAD, SSB4 too, etc.

Not quite how it works. eshop 3ds games run off the hardware of the 3ds. The Switch has a different architecture and will not be able to run off the hardware easily. There will need to be a layer of emulation. Now the new arm architecture does have soooooome of the same things (Or so I've heard), but not enough for it to be anywhere near easy to emulate. I'm not familiar enough with the specifics to how likely or easy a partial emulation will be though.

Wii U is right out. zero hardware compatibility. only software emulation is possible (as in, they have to emulate all of the Wii U's hardware, they can't use the hardware directly), and that ain't gonna happen. They're too busy rewriting all the emulation for all the other emulations they have (nes, snes, gba, etc) to run on the Switch.

It makes sense, but i hope when the Switch homebrew came, they make a 3DS emulator, like Wii have DS emulator.

one can hope =] It should be easier, if possible, if there's already one made compatible for mobile

not yet :P But if a 3ds emulator is ever developed at all to work on android phones, then it probably will be easier to port to Switch at that point.

Lol, I think It's dumb, and people should not expect it either since they (ninty) clearly stated that it would not be a replacement to Wii U or 3ds.

    BTW, what a huge signature,

The Gamecube wasn't backwards compatible with anything.
    Neither was the Virtual Boy.
It's not that huge of a deal if they have some sort of eShop with everything from the NES up to Wii U in there, and also some way to expand the memory, hopefully an SD external storage for convenience sake.

There probably will be backwards compatibility, but only for some games since they will have to be completely rebuilt for the Switch's CPU Architecture

In technical terms. But the way most people see it is "Backwards Compatibility"
