I also corrupted the rom a little, to hilarious results (freeze, a bunch of weird characters on screen, etc)

If your mobile is Android you can use the "Rom Patcher" from "Play Store", it is free and is very compatible. At least it worked to me.

I am currently looking for a way to insert the translated script into the game, proofreading is being done too.

I saw some programs that let you apply and create a patch (I saw it with ace attorney investigations), I don't know if that's what you need, or need something more complex. They were Xdelta and BEAT.

If you need someone to help you in creating a patch that can be applied to the game, I'd suggest creating a new topic that is less cluttered than this five year old one of the project starting and stopping under different people multiple times. As it stands, nobody looking at this topic will immediately know what's needed without coming to the last page, or that the translation is complete with just the ROM hacking side of things needing to be ironed out.I'm sure if you create a topic, someone will be able to help you. It would be a shame if this project were left to die in a five year old thread because nobody who had the skills ever knew what was necessary.

I've been following the projet by the shadows for some time now. And I decided to step up and see what I can do about the insertion some time ago. You see I'm not a hacker, but a programmer. Anyways I managed to make a tool that handles script opcode pointers. I'm using a hybrid of Ritchburn tool and my own codes (I'm using his tools to patch the double character to the rom). I'm afraid that the current script will need some manual editing (sorry...) but I might be able to make a dump saying which person is saying what, and I'm able to make manual management of the script to fix little things that might come up when inserting longet text than the default (not talking about the pointer, as said before they are sorted aswell). The thing is I'm in the middle of my exams so I'm not working as heavily as I was in the begining of the year so until the exams end I'll be able to make the tool to dump the text script.
But be sure! I really want to see this game translated!

Any kind of help is welcome here! And it's also kind of unexpected, lol, but it's still awesome. If I understood correctly you made some tools that:

1)Dump the script + opcode managing, showing which person is saying that line, which will be AWESOME for proofreading and TLC. (this is what I actually wanted lol)
2)Also insert the translated script into the rom, If I am not mistaken it can insert lines longer than the original size of that line? please correct me in that regard.

Anyway, your help will be gladly appreciated and if you could manage the script with those tools to insert the script, it would be really awesome.

1) I used the dump tool that was previously used.
2) I made a tool that separate the script into opcodes and deals with pointers.
3) I made an insertion tool that allows larger text lines (So no more trimming).
4) Here is the only part that I might need to do manual code modification: the game always puts a "wait for key press" after 3 lines o dialogue, so if the dialogue is more than that the "wait for key press" needs to be placed manually if not the text box will have a scroll bar (not really a problem but that would tidy up the text screen).
5) I need to work in the tool that show the person that is talking (Just need to interpret some more opcodes).
6) Also I haven't messed up much with the non compressed text (so no larger lines there).

When I have some time to code the tools (in about 1-2 months when the semestre ends) I'll contact you Pablitox so we can share some thoughts about the tool I need to finish.
