I know that my 3DS will automatically download firmware updates if left connected to the Internet while in sleep mode. What I don't know is if it will still download those updates while playing a legit Mario Kart 7 game online. I'm hoping it doesn't - then I could just leave the WiFi switch off, except when playing online.
I've getting a Gateway, but I dunno if the exploit it uses stops auto FW updates or not. I think I read somewhere it does? Is is still safe to play legit 3DS games online after the exploit has been installed, or from emuNAND?
It would be nice to leave the WiFi on again, to play ≤4.5 FW games online and get StreetPasses, without having to worry about getting that annoying update prompt every time I power the 3DS on. I don't have that pompt now, but if I did, would the Gateway exploit get rid of it? Would passing one of those Nintendo Zone spots like they have in most McDonald's automatically download a FW update, even if it wasn't registered in Network settings?
Thanks for any advice.
