yeah, any blocked from 1.0-4.3 will likely be still blocked by TWL_FIRM...there *might be some that where just whitelisted but used the correct save chip, but i think the majority of cards blocked between 1.0-4.3 will remain blocked even with a downgraded whitelist

any blocked between 4.4-9.x(although none where blocked between 7.x-9.x) would be unblocked by this

Can I use this on CFW or do I have to own a Gateway? I installed the .cia but nothing shows on my menu...and old DS flash card still doesn't work...

not easily, as the cfw only works with the weird emunand setup....i suppose you could install to the emunand, then extract it and restore it to the console via the gateway menu......but there is no way to easily extract the emunand used by the cfw.....if you mess up you will end up with a bricked sysnand....so i would say best not to mess about, unless you have a nand mod

nope, shouldnt cause any issues, it just unblocks flashcard

Well, if your DS flashcard can be updated in a DS lite to work on newer versions, you might consider giving that a shot.
If not, well, either get a cheap R4 to just install CFW, or just spend the extra and get the premium Gateway.

sounds like your trying to boot up the blue card in gateway mode/emunand, the blue card is always used in sysnand......so you boot gateway mode, installed timewarp.cia, and then reboot and the card will work before you trigger gateway mode.....if you enter gateway mode it will not work still

ok only things it might be is
A) reformat the microSD in the blue card, and copy a fresh set of files onto it
B) just double check a normal retail NDS game works in the console

other than that idk, i would say possibly a faulty blue card but if its working on another 3DS, the problem must be somewhere else

I'm not sure if anyone has already asked, but would something like this be possible to install the new save encryption method on 4.X consoles (i.e. 4.X console with the 6.0 save encryption) or is the save encryption in part of the firmware we don't have public access to? I'm guessing the latter, since somebody probably would have done this if it were possible. It would be nice if we could downgrade without losing saves.

I think you need the firmware keys to extract something of the sort.

It's more complicated than that. It's not just a title you can install.

I know it wouldn't be simple to do, I was just wondering if it was possible. I thought that because the CIA from this thread was able to modify the firmware to re-allow blocked flashcards, it might be possible to modify other regions of the firmware in a similar way. Given I know nearly nothing about the 3DS's software so I'm probably way off.
