I downloaded the latest public build and tried it out with Super Mario 3D World and Bayonetta. Mario ran fine, it slowed down in places to around 30-45 FPS, but it still played fairly smoothly and controlled responsively. Most places were a smooth 55-60 FPS. There were some loud audio issues when I got to the first boss battle with Bowser, whenever he threw a bomb that went past the bottom of the screen, it would cause a loud crackling sound.

Bayonetta had a few odd problems. Obviously the emulator isn't perfect, so I'm not going to complain about the various visual glitches. I figure those will get smoothed out over time. What I did have problems with were the controller and trying to save the game. I had to set up a control profile for all three different sets of controls: the GamePad, Classic Controller, and Pro Controller. The only one that the game recognized was the GamePad. Obviously, my XBox 360 controller doesn't have a screen on it, so I would much rather use one of the other two controllers. Going into the options menu, there was a setting to change controllers to one of the other two, but I can't get it to swap. I have to have my controller set as a GamePad in order to use the menu, but I have to have it set to something else for it to recognize that I have the other controller. If I do that, though, then I don't have a working controller to move the menu choice over. Kind of a catch-22. Any fixes for this?

The other problem was that when I tried to save the game, the emulator crashed. A quick Google search showed me that this is apparently a longer-standing problem with the emulator. Is there a fix yet, such as a particular set of settings I need to use to get this to work? I doubt that I have enough free time to play through and beat the game all in one go.

One other question. How do I get to the menu that other people have been posting pictures of with icons for the various games? Does CEMU even support the System Menu and stuff like the Mii Maker?

Other than that, this works surprisingly well. I can think of a couple other games that I'd like to try out. The dorm building I'm staying in is planning on getting a Wii-U and a few games that I've never played for the main rec room at some point soon. I'm thinking that maybe I can dump a couple of the games that they get to my PC as well. (Er, wait a second. Does that count as piracy? I mean, I'm staying in the building so they're available to me on legit discs and it should fall under the whole self-dump thing, right? I'm just setting it up so I can play on my PC instead of having to wait for times when nobody else is having a turn on the system. I tend to delete games that I finish off of my PC to conserve space, and I'm pretty sure that I'll have them beaten by the time I finish at the college and move out.)

Since this issue is relevant to the topic I will bring this up again.

Anyone knows why the Boss Health Bar in Shovel Knight has this strange issue in the top right corner?

ncjtb9Q.jpg

As you can see, the Boss Health Bar gets cut off, some peoples are having this, other's don't. I'm using Cemu v1.7.2c and tried the USA and EUR version of the game, both versions have the issue. Is there a graphic pack that fixes this by changing the internal resolution or something?

Ned also had this same issue at the bottom of this thread here:

I cannot answer your other questions as I do not own those games but for this, they are using a launcher made by forum members. There are two versions.

This by Netsparro and this by steve1978.

And there isn't actual support for Wii Maker icons or whatever, that's just part of the image of the launcher.

Hmmm, you're probably right. This appear to be an Nvidia issue. I watched some youtube videos and most Nvidia users had this issue while AMD didn't.

I did find a video of this Nvidia user who didn't have this issue though, that's odd. He's using Cemu v1.4.1 but I remember having this issue in all Cemu versions so I don't know why he's not affected by the issue. Probably a driver thing.

Hopefully Exzap can take a look at this Nvidia issue.

Found a bug when I was playing 3D World. (Yeah, this game's probably been tested to death, but I might as well post what I found anyways.)

It's impossible to play through the first Captain Toad level, or any level that requires blowing into the GamePad's microphone. I have a 360 controller that I set up to act as the GamePad, and since it doesn't have a microphone on it, and the game doesn't need the Control Pad anyways, I set it to where pressing Up on the Control Pad would activate blowing into the microphone. Started up the Captain Toad level, got to the platform that needed blown up to the upper area, hit the button, and nothing happened.

Okay, maybe it's got to be a pressure-sensitive button to reflect whether you would be blowing gently or hard into the microphone. Re-mapped the controls so that the L Trigger would activate the microphone. Got to the same point in the level, pressed the button, and nothing still happened. Didn't matter if I pressed gently, fully, slowly up to full, or mashed the hell out of the button. Nothing would trigger the platform.

TL;DR - The microphone option on the control mapping does not function at all, regardless of how it's set up.

PS: A quick feature-request. Is there any way to use both the keyboard and the controller for key bindings? It would be nice to have all of the buttons mapped appropriately to the controller, and then just lean forward and hit the Space bar or something on the keyboard when the microphone is needed. Mapping things that way, every single button for the controls match up perfectly with a standard controller.

For me, the microphone blowing worked fine mapping it to a button (or, in my case, the right analog stick press because no game seems to use that) in the last two or three Cemu versions. I played all through that game (at 5k resolution) without any issues except slowdowns in one single level :)

No idea why is crashing, try using a different MSVCR110.dll and place it inside the Cemu folder. Maybe that MSVCR110.dll is causing the issue in that Cemu version.

If I do that, though, then I don't have a working controller to move the menu choice over. Kind of a catch-22. Any fixes for this?
You don't need a controller with a screen to use gamepad in Cemu's input settings, lol. Also if a game on the Wii U itself doesn't support the Wii U Pro controller/Wii Classic controller it's not going to work in Cemu either, overall gamepad has the best compatibility and the least amount of issues. (nvm that gamepad features only work properly when using the gamepad anyway)

It's impossible to play through the first Captain Toad level, or any level that requires blowing into the GamePad's microphone. Are you sure your saving your input settings? This sounds more like it's not saving after mapping 'blow" and closing the input settings window. Depending on where you actually placed the Cemu folder, you may have to give Cemu administrator privileges.
