Well i did try restart and use airplane mode.
Setting --> Format --> Restore PS Vita System --> Yes --> Yes ---> Error [Airplane Mode Activated]

So i tried with wifi on
Setting --> Format --> Restore PS Vita System --> Yes --> Yes ---> Error [System Software need to be update. Update/Cancel

tried googling. couldnt find solution

It doesnt work via setting. If you are on lower firmware you will need to enter recovery menu to restore.

1) Power off
2) Hold PS button + R trigger + Power
3) Select 4
4) Login PSN at first prompt (its the only chance you will get to login, otherwise system will ask you to update firmware)

you dont need to deactivate the ps vita, it isnt on your account just format it.

hey im pretty new to hacking the vita but the one i have is 1.61. Is this really the best firmware to update it to? Just asking because its such a low firmware i want to make sure to get the most out of it.
