So after playing it for a while it started to heat up my PSP, at first I didn't notice it but then I started smelling warm plastic or something and I noticed that the back of the PSP was really hot, this only happened after my cousin played though, funny thing is, it started to cool of as soon as she gave it back to me.
But is this something bad? I can't seem to find anything about PSP heating issues.

Yeah, softmod with the sticky guide.
//edit But I guess it might just have been her doing something weird, though, I can't imagine what kind of thing would heat a PSP. It's not long playing since my sister played it for an hour and it was normal.

Maybe you left the processor at 333mhz?
Although I never heard of normal games
doing this even if the processor was set to
max clock.

Old PSPs had the tendency to get really hot when using WIFI. Talking about pre TA-82 era here, so this probably doesn't apply to you since you said it's only 3 days old. Was it being charged at the time? Sometimes devices get hot when being charged. Otherwise it's probably something she did to it, yeah.

3 things I can think of...

1. It's charging, whether through USB or the other way.
2. You left it on for a long period of time (10 hours will do it)
3. You upped the clocked speed of the PSP. Fix this by clicking select and changing both XMB and Game Clock to Default or 133/66.
