I was referring to this:

but yeah, you need to deactivate all or manually from the device itself. at least you can deactivate devices remotely, that's better than losing everything like Nintendo.
It's worth noting that can only be done once every 6 months.

it's abusable. you can activate a system, disconnect it from inet to never connect it again and use the deactivate all button. you'll have a system with all the installed content eternally activated(granted aren't timed, like PS+ content) and your 2 activations intact.
and you need to be really unlucky to burn 2 systems in less than 6 months.

This is a pretty huge step Nintendo's taking and instead of this they should be making sure that their online gaming service/servers are stable which are far more important, especially with the release of Smash for Wii U.
Pre-loading is nothing more than a glorified encrypted download that is later decrypted on the client's end.

Wasn't that because of Pokebank? It used some shitty method to connect to the server which massively increased server load for no real reason.

Yes and no. During that period a lot of people try to download Pokebank, which overloaded the server. Is not that Pokebank the app itself overloaded the server, is that increased number of connection trying to download the app that crashed the server.

That and there was a sales going on, so many people trying to buy games from eShop too.

The Pokebank app connected to a bunch of servers it had no business connecting to though, which also caused big issues IIRC.

Nah back then for those who managed to download Pokebank before it was taken out of eShop can still use the app during eShop downtime.

I know this is an old thread, but I think this news justifies an update.
It appears the first pre-load game, "Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition", is now being advertised on Nintendo's website. http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/Bydi-gOm4PyzWMDO-FUXaj1EkAUALJ51

Don't get too exited yet, by reading the fine print, It appears you won't be able to download it until 3 days before the release date of May 22nd. I assume you'll be able to download the complete CIA, but it's exefs will have an extra layer of crypto that won't be released publicly till the release date. Just my guess.
