There's an "ozone" smell coming from my computer ... I sniffed around and I believe it is coming from my power supply. It's 350 Watts and 3 years old or so ... Is it going to die soon? Is the smell hazardous to my health? I do feel a little sick sometimes :X This started over the past week as my comp seems to be dying ... The ozone smell is similar to what you'd smell from an air purifier machine ... such as the air purifiers from Sharper Image.

Right...that ozone smell is a BAD SIGN. I'm no smarty pants but you smell that ozone smell when you stir up static electricty and...you can also smell it during thunderstorms (i know I do)....so when you smell ozone its usually means something electric is sparking off...which sounds like a bad thing for a power supply.

Yes, it is the same as from air purifiers because the O2 somehow kills bacteria...but your powersupply may be burning other things as well....making that smell pretty bad for you.

I'd recommend getting a new supply =P
