Most new games should require at the very least 5.50 if not 6.10.

Is there any games that require 6.10 o-o? I thought i was just 5.55/6.00

QUOTE(TheWave @ Nov 1 2009, 04:48 PM) Damn, then I guess I have to hope for a fast patch or something to play Elite Squadron on 5.00 CFW.

Just go onto GEN D2

5.03 Gen-B is supposed to be released today. Check that out if you have a PSP-3000.

Thought so. I borrowed a Pandora battery from someone at school, and he left school a few weeks ago. So yeah, it seems I can't switch to Gen.

Then I suppose all I can do is to wait at either a M33 update or a patch. Else too bad for me.

He said that you CAN use XGEN to go from m33 to gen-D.

Oh, oh I see. Well then, before I go to Gen, I still want to know what the differences are between M33 and Gen. Just in case.

The differences are: M33 has a fast memstick hack which GEN does not.
Other than that there is not anything diffirent that M33 has to offer that GEN does not.

GEN launched the following updates:

http://dl.qj.net/Custom-Firmware-5.50GEN-A...27213/catid/114
http://dl.qj.net/Custom-Firmware-5.50GEN-B...27324/catid/114
http://dl.qj.net/Custom-Firmware-5.50GEN-B...27663/catid/151
http://dl.qj.net/Custom-Firmware-5.50GEN-D...27829/catid/163
http://dl.qj.net/CFW-5.50GEN-D2-Quick-Upda...27851/catid/151

You can click the links and see what is new per firmware.

Greetz, Vistabuser.

So Gen and M33 are both exact the same except the fast memstick hack and eventually stability between version?

Wtf where was that for? >.>'

Just because you thought you needed Pandora to get from M33 to GEN.
Now you know.
Yeah because I never heard of that XGEN and thus thought you had to go the process of going from M33 to OFW and then to Gen with the standard soft modding. >_>

But now I know how to do without pandora.

There has been just normal updates like GEN A and GEN B.
XGEN is just a updater that takes you straight to either GEN B2 or GEN D

Ah, I see.

So... The fast memstick and the ability to play 5.50+ games are the only difference between GEN and M33? Nothing else? No bigger change at bugs or crashes or what?
Also, you still can play from both ISO and UMD, right?

Yeah, I'm just that paranoid. Just asking for confirmations. >_>;

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
