Hey guys, I've spent the past day or so figuring out this homebrewing business. I have managed to get all my GC and Wii roms recognized on USBLoaderGX and can even play gamecube games, but I'm having some trouble with the Wii games.

Here are the issues:
The wii titles themselves have their 3d covers, but when I get to the screen right before you load the game, there is no picture- it's just black. However, I can see the settings button as well as the play button.
Here's where it gets interesting: when I click on the play game in order to start the game, the screen goes black for 1-2 seconds and then takes me back to the homebrew channel. I used the most updated editions of the drivers to my knowledge, but can't seem to get this right for the life of me.
I ran a SysCheck and here's what I have. Can anyone figure out the missing link?

Hello

Your report is OK

1) Reinstall USB LOADER GX properly on your SD.

2) And test your games with USB LOADER GX by the HBC, and result ?? ;)

Update: Never mind, please ignore. Have (mostly) got it working now, short of a few tweaks here and there I need to make...

-------

Happy New Year!

I've spent a bit of time trawling through various threads and upgrade guides - including the "SetMiiUp! From Stock to Latest Softmod in less then 5-10 minutes!", "Guide to Safely UPDATE your SOFTMOD!! **Fixes most compatibility issues**" and "ModMii for Windows Official Support Topic" (dating from 2010, but with recent posts).

I also read "Recieved Korean Wii boots directly to Priiloader - How to prepare console for use?" with interest - because I do have a Korean 2008 NTSC version. When I purchased it (2010 whilst living in China), I recall it was explained that I had to take this one as the newer versions (at the time) could not be hacked. Whether this applied to Homebrew or not I don't know... but the Wii does play copied discs. (Not that i'm advocating this - but just stating a fact with the status of my machine!). I assume this is a chip, rather than a softmod?

SysCheck output as such:

Yes - i'm still on 4.0U and would very much like to upgrade. Am also aware the dangers of bricking a Korean version, hence my caution.

If I read correctly, the "Modify ANY Wii 4.3 & below" thread says "If you own a Wii from the Korean region, please use Modmii instead" - but then i'm under the impression SetMiiUp! should work too.

A few of the threads / instructions differ slightly, and are written during different time periods, so I appreciate progress might render some of them obsolete.

I'm not too sure how to decipher the SysCheck output... can anyone offer a good starting point?

Thanks for any assistance offered!

Terence

Hi, I hope I'm asking this in the right place, because I don't know if making a thread for it was worh it:

I installed Priiloader a long time ago (8.1), for safety reasons. I saw it had different options, but I've never used them.
I wanted to ask a few things:

The "Region Free Anything" I guess it means Wii Disc games, Gamecube Disk Games and Wii channels. I have PAL Wii, but I have installed a NTSC us vc game (Mario 64) because i didn't want to pay for an awful PAL50hz version after buying both N64 Zelda games, so each time I try to enter it through the Wii Menu, it says that I can't run that channel. Okay no problem because I've always used USB Loader GX to launch it (using 480P NTSC as video option) and I completed the game twice.

If I turn on that option, would I be able to run SM64 NTSC US from the Wii Menu?

I also saw the options "Auto-Press A at Health Warning" and the ability to boot up at Homebrew Channel.

Are there any problems or cons (short or long term) that could be caused because of having any of these options turned on?
They seem like useful and practical stuff, but I rather not touch them if they can lead my Wii to suffer any sort of damage.

Thank you in advance.

EDIT: Now that I'm asking things, I'd also like to know:

My Wii has Homebrew Channel 1.1.0. Before, it asked me if I wanted to update once the internet connection catched on, but now it does not (the Wifi icon is white so it is receiving internet).

Should I update to 1.1.2? As I understand, using the Hackmii Installer would be the best way to update the HBC, so it is safe, right?

Noob here, having trouble playing ISO.

I followed this guide and this guide to hack my Wii. I bought a 64GB drive just for this. I have several ISO games that I backed up to my PC, but I have idea how to put these ISO's onto my USB drive and use USB Loader GX. I have CIOS and USB Loader GX already installed on my Wii, they are on a SD Card that is in the Wii. Could anyone explain what I'm suppose to do, how am I able to play these ISO's?

Thank you :)

Please help. I live in the UK but I recently bought a used US wii online. When the wii arrived it had been factory reset as you would expect. However it had an SD card in it which is full of wiiware and VC channels, there's loads of them! I've tried to transfer the games back into the wii, but it won't work and I can't load them directy from the SD card either. It's killing me seeing all these games and not being able to play them.

So my question is, could I softmod a PAL wii ( I don't want to risk bricking my US one) so that it could play the US wiiware and VC games directly from the SD card?
