you probably followed "complete softmod guide" website.
you have a wrong setup, like 90% of people on the world thinking that guide is good.

either :
- replace your slot 249 with d2x r52 base 56
OR
- go to USBLoaderGX > settings > loader settings > Game's IOS : 250 instead of 249

That's the first thing to do.

I don't know if that alone will fix your black screen problem, but usually black screen means your video settings are wrong.
1. play games from the same region than your console !
2. set video settings to "disc default", don't force anything
3. just reset the settings if it still doesn't work (settings > reset)

i have replaced my slot 249 with d2x r52 base 56. I don't know if i have done it right so i am just going to include my updated syscheck at the bottom of this post. I have checked that both of my games that i have downloaded are NTSC. I have reset every setting in both the usb loader gx and the wiiflow. It still gives me the black screen unfortunately.

So, i've already hacked one wii. Then i got another cheap wii that doesn't read disks but letterbomb won't show up. I tested the same sd card on my hacked wii and it can read it so its not sd card compatibility. I made sure the mac address was correct. Im not sure why letterbomb isn't showing up like it should. Any ideas?

Is it updated to 4.3?

Hello everyone, first timer here! I tried searching for an answer to my question but couldn't find it. I'm wondering if it is possible to use only one SD card to install The Homebrew Channel and everything else, and then put my backups on that same SD card and run them from there? Is this possible or do I need a separate SD card/USB/HDD?

Edit: Worth mentioning that this is a SDXC 64 GB, will this be a problem? I've been reading about this and I'm a bit confused with the formatting and card support.

I used a 2GB SD card back when I first used ModMii to mod my Wii. Once everything is updated you can us larger SDXC cards. I moved my files over and am using a 256GB SDXC card myself which works fine.

In fact I haven't had any problems with large cards. I've modded over 15 Wiis using the same 2GB SD card and in each Wii moved items over to 256, 128, 64 & 32GB cards without issues.

Thanks for the answer! I will get a new 2GB SD card then and use that. This raises a new question: when can I swap to the 64GB card, and what files do I move over?

From what I've read, the process looks like this (please correct me if I'm wrong):

1. Get a new 2GB SD card and prep that, formatting it to FAT32.
2. Do the letterbomb hack to install The Hombrew Channel.
3. Install cIOS and USB loader.
4. Install Nintendont (and Geckocodes/Ocarina for cheatcodes).
5. Install WBFS manager.
6. Switch to 64GB SD card?
7. Put my backups on the 64GB SD card.

You don't need it after you install the HBC. Just put it away then. Don't use WBFS Manager. It corrupts games. Use Wii Backup Manager.

Homebrew isn't installed on the console, you just copy it to a folder on SD so it will need to be put on the card you're normally using.

Ok, thanks for the info! So after step 2 I can copy everything over to the new SD and continue installing the rest on the new SD, correct?

I dumped a copy of Mario Kart Wii using Cleanrip, and it came in two seperate ISO files. I wasn't able to find out how to turn them into one ISO file so I can use it for extracting, patching, and other things. How do I turn them into a single ISO file?

Greetings o' knowledgeable ones. Many moons ago I put a new motherboard in my wii. I'm trying to build an emunand with the same serial as my wii and i can't find a way to get it. i have booted the pink fish disc with neogamma in the past to get it that way but i can't seem to get it to load, it just goes to a green screen. I've dumped the nand with usbloadergx and found the settings.txt. I can't find any of the tools to decrypt it anymore. can anyone offer any help?

cheers.

The serial number is on the label on the console.

EDIT: I didn't see that your serial number isn't the one on the label. (?)

Hi all,
That ModWii thing is way over my head TBH.
I've posted the initial post again with my big headache in Red. JD16 doesn't matter - it's the Outdoor Adventure game I bought for my daughter for Xmas that is the big issue here.
After eyeballing the massive ModWii post I think it's a very sad "game over" for that Xmas pressie because I just don't have the time / brain to get into all that coding. Before I give up entirely, does anyone have any other idea for how I can resolve this please? It was such a perfect gift for her and it seems like such a shame!!
Thanks again for all you guys offering your time helping we clueless folk.
Ros
Literally download modmii, install it to your PC, then pick the first option in the list, and follow on screen instructions. Modmii does a ton, but to get started that's all you need to know. I've had reports of 7 year Olds and 70 year olds successfully using modmii, so I'm confident anyone capable of reading and following instructions can use modmii successfully.

Having this odd issue with usbloadergx, when it fnishes the loading screen and starts to show the game icons (wii menu-styled) it loads the first 2 game icons, then freezes. Any solution?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Any method I try:
Says that the files are damaged or in an unknown format
Ends in that there isn't enough space, even though there is enough space on the USB.
I tried adding code to part0 from part1 on a hex editor, and it says there isn't enough space when I save it.
I'd say to redump the games, could be a bad dump..?
