Uloader is old, and works only with Hermes cIOS, right?
so, using cIOS 222/223 is the way to do.

You can also use Config Loader/Wiiflow (mod)/USBLoaderGX.
All of them allow disc launching, and cIOS settings.

USBLoaderGX allow you to set settings individually per games directly in the loader
Cfg loader may require that you configure it on your computer first (maybe that changed?)
I think Wiiflow allow you to set it in the loader (but I don't know if there's a per game setting)

Hello. My problem is the following:
I have Band Hero on my USB, and I use USB Loader GX. When I try to play the game, a black screen appears, and never starts the game.
I've read some things like force the video de NTSC, but it doesn't work. Any help? I'm not so good with this, so if there is a way to fix it, please make it easy for me :/ Thanks!
My Wii us 4.3U, and I have the latest version of USB Loader GX.

Ok, I haven't downloaded ModMii yet (the site seems to be down), so I figure I'll just get clarification on what supplies I'll need before I mod my wii.

I need an SD card (preferably not HC) for installing? How large should it be?
I plan on using a USB loader, what storage capacity would be recommended? Also, I will be able to load GameCube games right?
How would I find out what firmware my wii is on?

And is there anything I should avoid doing to ensure I don't brick it? Or is it pretty safe?

If you're using ModMii it's pretty much safe. Just follow the instructions and you'll be okay. The instructions are pretty simple to understand IMO.

It would be GOOD if the SD card is BIGGER than 512mb since it will probably ask you to make a backup of the Wii's internal memory (just in case) and that's 512mb insize. If you choose not to do that part it, though, it doesn't even need to be that big.

You can tell your System Menu version ("firmware") at the top of the screen when you go into the Wii's settings

space for USB loading, it depends on how many games you want on there. Uncompressed a Wii game is about 4 1/2 GB and a GameCube game is about 1 1/2 GB so you can do the math and get an idea. Once copied to the disk they can be a little bit smaller but that's a good rule of thumb to go by. Generally bigger is better but if it's bigger than 2tb It won't work with some USB Loaders and almost won't work with any other homebrew apps that might want to use it.

It should be able to load GameCube games UNLESS your Wii is new enough that it doesn't have GameCube ports.
43d1147701646-gamecube-ports-revealed-revknow_screen002.jpg

Hint : if it didn't even come with a stand to go vertical like this, it can't open up like this either.
If it's one of the newer ones that doesn't have these plugs ... They're REALLY close to being able to play GameCube games off of USB with a classic controller IF you have the original retail GameCube game disk to copy it with in the first place ... but they haven't quite gotten that working yet.

So rather than create a topic, I think my question is better fit in here. I always figure I'm a noob with this stuff so here goes:

My Wii is currently on 4.2U and has been having some issues as of late with the disk drive. It's not to the point where I can't use it, but I think it's getting there. I had this issue once before and this repaired Wii appears to be on the fritz as well now.

I'm planning on buying a new Wii in the store over the next day or two, is there ANY way to literally clone my system as it is now and then restore it on the new one after I've softmodded it? Mine currently has BootMii set as boot2 and I know this is no longer an option, but maybe having that option would allow me to do something to clone this Wii right now? Yeah I know, complete noob questions with this as I've never had to worry about it. I also have a bunch of my games on an ext drive running via USB Loader along with 55 games which I purchased through the Wii Shop Channel.

Okay. I only download the app, and post the result here, right?
Yes, you can open the file it creates with notepad and past it's contents here. It might be kinda long so it would be best if you put it in a spoiler like this.
Code:
[spoiler]
put text here

Okay. Question: Is it normal for the app to "freeze" almost at 80%, and make the Wii flash every second? It's been like this for the last 5 minutes. Did I do something wrong?

Doesn't sound quite normal, no. :( I'd say maybe if it's already started making the file you could post what it's created so far ... or you could always try again.

Oh, okay, It looks like you have cIOSCorp or DARKCorp installed (for running burned DVD-R games from the disk channel) I had forgotten that with some syscheck versions that don't work with that. (I should have remembered since I have it installed, too :P ) There are quite a few different versions of syscheck apps ( syscheck, syscheck 2, syscheck GUI, ioscheck, etc. ) some work, some freeze, some crash and reset the Wii. Unfortunately you'll have to try until you find a good one.

If I remember correctly, the last one I used was syscheck GUI but I kinda think it gave less information than other ones did. can't make any promises, though.

By the way, yes, I have DARKCorp installed. It was the first thing I installed in my Wii, when I hacked it. Hope it doesn't mean I had messed up my Wii, because my Wii doesn't read disks anymore :(

No, it's not messed up with DarkCorp. I still have it installed myself and the only problem it ever causes is with syschecks. (Since your Wii doesn't read disk anymore anyhow, almost any original, clean IOS ... like 58 for most homebrew ... can be put back if needed to fix any problems.)

As for your original problem, I do see your cIOS (used in USB loading) are a little out of date. The easiest way to update them is to use ModMii for Windows and give it this same syscheck log. It'll automatically download what you need to update anything it sees as out of date and give you an easy to follow guide to tell you how to install them.
At that point you can set GX to load games with IOS 249 as a default (it very well may be set that way already) and then in the specific settings for any games that uses the USB microphone or instruments (rock bank, guitar hero, MW3, black ops) you just set it to 250 for those games.
I hope this ends up being enough to fix your problem.

Okay. I have to download 43 files :/ Is that normal, based on my Wii off-to-date state? Also, Guitar Hero 3, Guitar Hero: Metallica, Guitar Hero: World Tour, MW3, Black Ops, run flawlessly on my Wii. So, I don't know if they cause problems normally, or you just said some random examples.. Let's hope it all get fixed. If so, thank you so much. If it doesn't, I will have to accept the fact that my Wii isn't so useful as it was before. It is really old (I bought it when it came out). Thanks again.
