Now that freeShop is no longer functional, I'd really like to see a replacement BCSTM music player. freeShop was the only accurate BCSTM player available. I only ever used freeShop for mostly playing BCSTMs.
Uhh sure. That won't be a problem I guess ^^

Note that it didnt work on all consoles, if you can make it work properly that would be awesome. and we could port it for anemone

I’ve been downloading first party titles all day today on my switch. Did this update only affect 3DS titles?

Should be able to fix it, but I don't think we can just adapt it into anemone. idk tbh I have no idea in which lang it's even made

Those title keys are still up and active, as in there are two of them.

Can confirm a certain sub-reddit advice works.
  1. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc on your computer.
  2. Edit the host file with Notepad text editor.
  3. The edits will have this format at the end of the file. Substitute numbers for # char and put the original web address right after.
  4. After saving the host, type in http://[that title site] in your browser.

You can also just type that IP address into your web browser or CDN downloader config.

Did you ever figure out how to make it default to the 3DS version?

The two share the same IP address, but my browser defaults going to the other one.

I'm super curious to know what happens if small 3rd party titles released after the blocking occurred will work with a shared encrypted title key. Will Nintendo block selectively or thoroughly?

If it's going to be the selective route, freeShop will still have a limited role.

Oh, so it's impossible to use it anyway then? Well, RIP.

It's not that you can't use freeShop. Many 3rd party, Virtual Console, and DSiWare games are still available to download.

Nintendo is blocking us from downloading select titles, mostly their 1st party titles. The selection of games that you can get from the CDN server will continue to dwindle as more are added to their server-side ticket validation list.

Also, don't put your 3DS to sleep mode when downloading games on firmware 11.8.0-41. There's a change in the NIM system module that'll detect if you're trying to download in sleep mode, and this can flag you for a ban.

freeShop, CIAngel, Villain3DS, WiiU USB helper, tikDevil??, FunKeyCIA, 3DNUS??, and all other CDN downloaders are dying a slow death.

If you're trying to grab a few updates, DLCs, and whatever unsecured games that are left, hurry up before the gates fully close.

they bought their own game on a key site and checked where they came from and it turned out they were review copies he had given out by email to someone

  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no storefront I'm aware of (at least on pc) requires the devs to pay for the keys they generate
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
they don't lose money doing this, even if someone decide to chargeback
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so that seems to be a pretty common thing, i kinda blame the dev for that one though as they were giving out like 5 keys to someone just because they asked for multiple copies for review for whatever reason and there were multiple people doing this. he should've seen the red flags
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
@The Real Jdbye Yet devs tell US that they get charged possible charge backs? Its no idea we keep this up since I have to trust the devs more than key reseller sites.

(the chargeback is a penalty fee from the Credit card company, apparently around 30$)
