he could put the post in his signature, and always update the same post. or make a blog instead of burring it in this thread (like I did)
but not everyone will remember to check his post.
Why not editing the wiki himself? it's not that difficult, and there's a preview to "try and fail" before really submitting the changes so anyone can learn and see the result before officially editing the compatibility list.

actually, I just tried that. The Nintendont loader from HBC does give me a black screen without any text. I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm using the latest dol file from https://nintendon-t.googlecode.com/svn-history/r80/trunk/loader/loader.dol

I guess I could try the release version...
I believe the latest is:
https://nintendon-t.googlecode.com/svn-history/r131/trunk/loader/loader.dol
current is:
https://nintendon-t.googlecode.com/svn-history/trunk/loader/loader.dol

There's a permanent link in the first post to the latest rev. I don't understand why people always ends up downloading a previous version.

technical stuff is available inside the spoilers.
it's impressive how many games are playable now with Nintendont. A big thanks to the developers!

memory card emulation (saving seems to be the issue; loading works if you already have a save file) for Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean is broken in 1.131. Compatibility list says it was working as of 1.130, but I don't know if the person tested saving.

Check in your settings, if OSReport and Log is enabled. If so, disable it (This caused some problems with a few games for me). If this doesn't help, try version r125.

OSReport and Log were disabled, so that was not the issue. I know it had memory card emulation issues in the past, and even when it is working, it will always tell you your saved game is corrupted when you try to load it and you have to tell it not to delete the save and then try to load again.
Anyways, I've gone back and tried r125 and the saving is not working there, either. Any other revisions that would be good to check out for changes to memory card emulation?

I seriously HATE Playstation controllers...
Worse design I have stumbled upon, and this comes from someone that has played from Atari 2600 onwards.

I am struggling BIG TIME to play some platform games on the NGC because of the weird and odd analog stick response of the controller.ini
The thing is that the analog stick just gets 8-directions, and I know that the sticks are analog because the values change every time I rotate them in the HID test.

Can someone help me out to verify why is this happening?
Mario Sunshine is giving me a pain in the ass because of this 8-directional movement.

Also, I think this is happening for BOTH analog sticks, not just the left one.

Here is my controller.ini:
Code:
[Generic USB Gamepad]

just uploaded a new version:
-added 16 missing patches for billy hatcher, now it at least boots, you need to disable memory card emulation though for it to actually get into gameplay
-added avatar and P.N.03 onto the ARStartDMA exception list
-further optimized the emulated dk bongo values to be more precise

thought you should know that it still says v1.131 when you load it up.

Cool ! Thank you :yayu: Can I ask a question? You said "16 missing patches" Would it affect Billy Hatcher only or possibly more games?

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
