Why N just allow to download only games you have purshased...

They used a frontfacing solution which is normal if you expect a largely secure environment, they didn't anticipate nor build for a case of nVidia fucking up the chip. So this response is their solution for the time being.

RIP.

I don't think that they can legally do this.
At least in Europe.

They can. Nintendo isn't banning the account, you still have your content where it was purchased legally. And your console is used in theft, so it loses priveledges.

Nintendo is starting to ban certs from CDN access. This will make your console useless for downloading games, updates for your games, dlc, and sysupdates. Please be cautious when using anything that access the CDN i.e. FreeShopNX, CDNSP, etc. You've been warned.

Edit: Here is some proof even Sysupdates are blocked: https://streamable.com/k623d
The only recorded instances of 2137-7403 ever appearing were back before 3rd of March 2017, when people attempted to connect online before the console's launch.
Oh dear.

What if you deleted the content and wanted to re-download it? I'm sure they can't block you from downloading games you legally purchased (in Europe).

If they have evidence of theft they can, account is still wholly fine. EU law can't protect you from you breaking the law.

Think about even trying to challenge them in court where they have all evidence of your activity. And again, your content on the account is safe.

CDNSP just gives me a "Request rejected by server! Check your cert" despite working around a few hours earlier, so I guess they really are cracking down on this.

^ This. Just use a public cert that comes with cdnsp gui or another source and you guys should be fine. Don't use yours.

They're banning those too.

I had a weird thought, Sega with the Saturn it was a train wreck a pile of chips, but it does kind of fit the design philosophy of Sega at the time.... The Genesis/Sega CD/32X machine was probably loads of fun to program for
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Damn, the new COD coming soon is 310gb on series s/x
    +1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, I bet a good chunk of the space games have is due to unused content
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I think you only get like 425gb on a series s hard drive, so you get 1, 2 next gen games max
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, so you need to have another series s if you wanna play more games?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Nuh you buy extra HD n add to it, but not cheap
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, how can a console have more than 1 hard drives?
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, oh Yea I recall my PS3 can do that
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Modded ofc
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Speaking of my PS3 i havent downloaded any games yet bc my wifi is too slow
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
and also because blackouts here are very common and that could damage the console
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
Do you have a surge protector or an UPS?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea but to play the next gen games, you must have those games on internal, or buy the official ssd expansion cards, which are expensive
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, dunno what each one of those are
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, my PS3 was already modded when my dad bought it for me and my brother
