There is no piracy check the game is no good just wait for the real thing....is it that hard to wait a few days when most of you will best it in an hour since you have nothing better to do?

*sigh*

*sigh*

Many people have bought the game legit, and dumped it here in Australia and Europe, and we have all been getting the same results, so the problem is probably a piracy check, not the dump being misconfigured...

So...I'm not really sure how this works entirely, but this is crackable, right? We just have to wait until someone figures out how to make the piracy check think everything's cool, or install a new IOS or something?

In the end, everything can be cracked / hacked. Even the PS3 will be hacked at some point in the future. There is just a difference in when it's going to be hacked, for this game I suspect it's hacked in less than 5 days from now.

This reminds me of when I BOUGHT SSBB and got pissed off that it wouldn't play on my wii xD. I removed my modchip that night just to play it
wink.gif
.

edit: "Only the original Disc works" Sooooo wouldn't an unscrubbed release work? being that images are direct copies of the contents of a disc?

No, the persons who bought the game in Australia (it's out there now) have tried that, and it didn't work.

Great topic, exactly what we needed. Big thanks, GBAtemp runs fast as ever again!

Funny thing is, if it's really a fluke, Nintendo might not even know what is causing this

Still, I think it's an intentional piracy check...

I wonder...if we could patch this out with Ocarina Codes.

Ocarina code? Hard but possible...

I mean, that's how people eliminate piracy checks in DS games

Yeah, I know. Using ocarina/gecko codes you can even spoof your MAC address or Wii Connect authorization code. So, piracy check... why not? If you manage to play the game even for 20 minutes...

I don't think this AP is that good at all... Looks like a silly check for something which makes the game crash. And we've seen thousands of AP like this in all these years, on PC and on consoles. A good and motivated hacker who *really wants* to break it could make the game work in minutes removing the check. The point is that right now only very little people are working on it mainly because the game is still not released in most countries and even in Australia only a few shops are already selling it (the release date there is November 12, in USA November 15, in Europe November 20).

You have no idea what the new check involves, so you are simply talking rubbish judging how easy it is to crack. And the ISO is in the wild, all the main scene members have a copy now apparently thanks to someone here.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

  • Jayro @ Jayro:
The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
