How have you put Ubuntu on the USB drive exactly?

Nvm, it somehow managed to install the OS with just 2.25MB of data and no Internet connection.

Now, I'm having trouble connecting to the Internet on Ubuntu. It can't connect to any WiFi networks no matter what. It can detect them but not connect. I opened a question about this on AskUbuntu but they deleted it immediately.

If you're just going to install Windows, you don't need Internet.
If you want to dual boot, install Windows first.
If you want to install Ubuntu or you really need Internet and the Wi-Fi is not detected out-of-the-box, the procedure depends on the hardware and it's rarely complicated (if no Wi-Fi drivers are available, you can install drivers for XP anyway).
You can also connect via Ethernet or via USB tethering through your smartphone or tablet.

If they deleted it from AskUbuntu immediately probably it has never been published.

Depending on your choice of USB-installer preparation software sometimes you end up with several partitions on the USB device in such a manner that it may seem like you only have one partition and that said partition is incredibly tiny, but in reality there tends to be other partitions as well containing the actual OS data.

I did that. When I boot it, it won't let me install windows onto a GPT formatted disc.

You can't install Windows 7 onto a GPT formatted disk, it only works with Windows 8+ and a UEFI bootloader.
If the drive is larger than 2 TB GPT is the only option and MBR will only work if you're willing to discard the rest of the drive space.

Nevermind your drive is 1 TB. That should work.

It may be too late for my reply, but in my experience with GPT formatted hard disk, you would need to zero fill the hard drive, perhaps a quick one in order to format it as MBR, I am not sure on this, cause I haven't the need to reformat a disk back to MBR in a while.

@migles - I tried what you said and it won't let me. 3 partitions are currently active on /dev/sda. I can't make a new one not resize any of the ones already there.

You have to unmount it first (right click on the partition → Unmount).

It doesn't let me unmount it, the option is like greyed out so I can't click it on any of the partitions.

are you sure you didnt isntalled linux on it? because it looks like its installed and you are not running it from the pen... and if thats the case its impossible to unmount,
i say this specially because that swap thing...

can show me screenshot of the whole program?

I know why: you're running Ubuntu from the hard drive. You need to run it from the USB drive and select Try Ubuntu.
Oh, I see.

So now that Ubuntu is on my HDD, do I have to format it right now or do I just boot it from USB and it will let me format it when launching Gparted?

@migles still doesn't work, im trying what yoy and nastys said

yeah, as nasty said (and i tried to tell you.... but i dont know why you didnt read what i said >:C )
boot ubuntu from usb stick with the option to try it... WITHOUT INSTALLING IT
if you boot from the usb the HDD will be unlocked it and you can format it...

ubuntu got a tool on it to make a bootable pen with linux on it, you can use that tool to create the usb if you had problems with the windows program

You have to boot it from USB, select Try Ubuntu then open GParted, unmount the swap then you can create the msdos partition table from Device → Create Partition Table...
If you just want to keep Ubuntu, you don't need to do this, as Ubuntu supports GPT (and >2 TB partitions) on non-UEFI systems, but if you want to dual boot or just install Windows, you need to use an MBR (msdos) partition table.
Also, if you're going to dual boot, beware that Windows replaces Ubuntu's bootloader, so you have to repair it if you want to be able to boot it again, or just install Windows first and then Ubuntu (which you need to do anyway, as you'd need to recreate the partition table as msdos to be able to boot Windows).

i got 2 Bootable usbs, one with ubuntu and one with windows 7

so ill
1) shove ubuntu usb into pc
2) start pc and spam F12
3) try ubuntu, not install,
4) get gparted
5) run gparted
6) format 900gb partition to ntfs
7) turn off pc
8) put windows usb in
9) boot windows usb
10) itll work??

Is there any unmounting to do around step 6 or is it simply formatting to ntfs?

No, don't format that. You need to unmount the swap partition and select Device → Create Partition Table, then create an msdos partition table (Windows doesn't support GPT partition tables on non-UEFI systems).
If you want to dual boot, install Windows first.

yes exactly that!
you need to unmount on set 6, if you boot from usb that will work.
ps, also you need to go on device -> create parition table on step 6
so:
6, create partition table MSDOS
7 format ntfs
8 turn off
etc..
