My TV isn't working, please help

So I turned on my tv, played some wii games, and left it there for maybe 30 minutes.
Later when I come back the tv light that shows its on it still lit up but the TV just shows a black screen, i've turned it on and off but all its showing is a black screen.
The input is at cable/tv so can you please help me?

There's also a storm in the distance but lighting hasn't hit my house

After leaving alone for a while we turned it back on and it seems to be working fine?

Does anyone know what can cause the thing that happened to the TV when it was just a black screen?

I'm having the same problem, I use a hdtv monitor for my gaming and lately I've had to turn the monitor off and on several times for the sound to be ok and the picture as well, I don't know why it messes up more with ps3 on i just hope if I get a new monitor later this year it won't do the same thing
