Hardware My PS4 won't recognize my external HDD?

I got tired of my internal running out of space so I wanted to use my external. It says it can't recognize it or something so when I try to format it doesn't work, I tried changing it to exfat still nothing. I read that if the drive has some sort of software on it that can be the issue and my drive is a WD drive so it has this unlocker software on it, even after removing the password it still won't do it.

I read online that you can't get rid of this stupid unlocker software on the drive so does that mean my drive is just incompatible? :/

late reply but..... have you tried deleting all partitions and making the primary exfat? if the drive has a strange partition setup it can be ignored by the ps4
