Hey Temp, I was just wondering about any progression in music hacking.
I'd like to post a music hack I did by manipulating
the SBNK file of the Elite Four theme from Pokemon Black and White
and replacing the Hex for said theme with the Hex from Phoenix Wright "Cornered" theme.

Now even though I'm kind of satisfied, I want it to sound like this

While some said it might be possible, most people said that it was
impossible to take a whole song from another DS game and somehow
import it into another whether it be with Hex, Kiwi.Ds, or some other tool.
Any help on this? I've seen someone put Cyrus's theme in
B/W so it made me wonder is there some way now or if
there's always have been.

Actually I manipulated the Elite Four SSEQ file in which I had to use the instruments from the SBNK file of the same name.

So I guess I was wondering if I could use the SBNK file from the Phoenix Wright game.

I did just such a hack as an example in my hacking guide- http://gbatemp.net/threads/gbatemp-rom-hacking-documentation-project-rewritten-for-2012.73394/

It is actually quite easy- you can try rebuilding if you want but tools like tinke can manipulate SDAT files. I have not played around with pokemon SDAT files in a while but from what I recall you should have enough to try sacrificing a bank or three.
I know from experience that the PW file uses a couple of banks with the odd sounds there being the difference, get both banks in there from the PW song and tell the game to use them (this will probably require a hex editor although it is changing a couple of bytes and should only take a few minutes when going from scratch).

Yea when I tried switching soundbanks I think it shifted some values over to the point where it freaked out the whole game
and the game would crash at certain places. It was funny to see Reshiram in the title doing Giratina's scream though...

But yea, I think it was a problem with the kiwi program that, when extracting files, placed everything in alphabetical order.

I seriously think that is the simple, annoying problem, and I hate when it's always those little things messing up a large process, lol.

But anyway I will try to use Tinke again and post results when I can.
