Hello everybody,
I'm not sure if this is the right category for this, but I didn't know where else ‍♂️. So, I've got a Lenovo Ideapad 320 Laptop with Windows 10 on it, and I've never modded something on it. Today, I was editing an image with Gimp (ca. 2650x 1900) and when im moving around an image, my Laptop makes a noice (I turned the speakers off) that reminds me of the sound when an old printer is printing something. I can't remember that it had ever done it before, and it's still making this after restarting Gimp. Is the Laptop broken?

Sounds like it could be a problem with the fan, laptops have really inadequate cooling solutions that forces fans to run and do a lot of work, so they tend to wear out after some time, and get nosier. If it continues to make a lot of noise, you may want to look into getting the fan replaced.

Personally I'd just replace the fan as soon as I notice, but I realize not everyone is as tech savvy as I am, and taking apart laptops is kinda scary.

I'm hearing the fan of the laptop all the time, and this weird noice is more like the whistle of a teapot that's finished. [Im from germany, my descriptions may be a bit confusing]

It's not because of the mouse, I even tried it with the touchpad and the noice is still coming when moving the image

It could be coil whine from the processor, Kaby Lake processors do suffer this issue, you can try reducing the maximum processor state in the power options and see if it helps.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
im taking a break for today anyway

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
