I was on the "have I been pwned" website, and I noticed that a certain Wii U site with "ISO" on it was breached in 2015. It claims that 458k accounts were leaked from it, which is, surprisingly, a LOT.

Just to compare, the Wii U has sold 13.36 million. This would mean that about 3.4% of Wii U owners have signed up for the site, and are likely pirating games. This would also exclude users who use other methods, like USB Helper or Chaos, or non-pirating users with hacked Wii Us.

i wonder if it's the real reason nintendo changed its tune of respecting people who bought the wii u and is being harsh now
i wonder if it's impossible to fix the exploits at this point so people could just buy a wii u instead and get all their upcoming games for free and it would grow
because it seemed like, not too long ago they intended on supporting the wii u still
but if it's basically a non-mobile switch with the same library that enables piracy it would be a terrible business decision

i'm personally looking forward to when the wii u is collectable, since they pulled it from shelves now too

Thats not really an accurate figure for Wii u hackers because that iso site was originally an iso site for the wii during the days of wii hacking.
The url was changed from wii to wii u later on.
So all accounts from the wii days are still in use even after the change in url.

Plus it wouldnt make sense to consider 400,000+ accounts as potential pirates for the wiiu in 2015 (when the breach happened) because the wii u was barely hacked, if at all, during that time frame to pirate games.

I would say the majority of those users were created during the wii era and probably pre-2010.

Well to be accurate it was actually two different Wii sites that merged together to become the wiiu site the problem with the figure the op gave is that many people had accounts for both sites not to mention people with multiple accounts on one site plus as has been mentioned not everyone uses the site we are discussing for piracy in the first place so the figure by the op means absolutely fu#k all.

The argument is that they may not own Wii Us.
Yes but a large portion of CEMU users will also own a wiiu as well.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

No it wasn't two sites merged in to one. It was wii and now the domain has been changed to Wii U.
it was two sites it even tells you at the top of the current site the two sites were wii iso and sos a Spanish site.

clearly says ios and sos top of screen next to my second horrible edit. had to crudely edit out any other site info to remain in the rules of this site. plus the current sos site has zero to do with the old one which was exactly like your site but in Spanish.

My Pixel Pro buds shit the bed a month or two ago. My wireless charger (which they do support Qi charging) absolutely COOKED them. Caused some problem that caused the case to heat up to 180F+
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
They were like 9 months out of warranty but I hit up Google support anyway and told them how hot they were getting and they replaced them with new ones because they wanted these for failure analysis lol

Yeah that's why I can't bring myself to even spend $100 on wireless earbuds

I think it's a cool idea but damn
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Apparently the case has a problem with >15W wireless chargers. Google design fault, that one.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I could live with wireless charging if the damn standard case doesn't block connection

    how is wireless charging possible?

    Copper conducting electricity or something

@Xdqwerty, power through a coil of wire causes an electromagnetic field to be generated. Another coil of wire can be set up to harness the power from that electromagnetic field and turn it into usable energy for charging a device
