Hello friends. I am asking this question because i recently find my r4.
Since they updated the website i am currently thinking if it is possible to run on 11.4.
I am also asking this because my friend said to me that his 2014 r4 runs on 11.4 new 3ds.
So i am asking...Is this possible? The link of my r4 is this: http://www.r4i-gold.me/en/download/skin/2012/0115/282.html

If it's a CFW 3DS, then yes. Luma 8.0 allows us to boot any flashcard that was ever compatible with a DSi/3DS, and even some original DS flashcards (the ones that had menu icons). Furthermore, some others can be booted through TWLoader, but a 2012 flashcard can almost surely boot directly under Luma 8.0

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
