Hi everyone !

It's been a long time since I came here.
I just recently checked what was new on wiiu and it's awesome, kexploit on 5.5.1 and a beautiful loadiine GX2 !

So I decided to setup my raspberry pi 3 to host all this new stuff, without being forced to have any internet connection.

As I did it for myself I share with you what I did to install the raspberry from scratch (you can find all these steps in the archive) :

PRESENTATION

  • This package helps you configure a raspberry 3 to host the WiiU exploits and loadiine.
  • No internet connection needed once configured.
  • The raspberry acts like a wifi access point.
  • The WiiU connects to the raspberry wifi access point.

HOW TO SET UP THE RASPBERRY PI 3
  • Put the sdcard in the raspberry, then plug :
    • A keyboard
    • A screen
    • An ethernet cable (to your router to have internet, only needed to setup the raspberry)
  • Plug the micro usb to turn it on
    • Wait for the raspberry to finish the configuration
  • Log in the raspberry with:
    • login: pi
    • password: raspberry
  • Enable SSH (on the raspberry):
    • Run the command : "sudo raspi-config"
    • Select "9 Advanced options" (press enter)
    • Select "A4 SSH"
    • Select "Yes"
    • Exit with multiple ESC
  • Retrieve your raspberry IP (on the raspberry):
    • Run the command "sudo ifconfig"
    • Look for "inet addr:192.xxx.xxx.xxx" in the eth0 part
  • Copy the folder "raspberry" of the archive to your raspberry by SSH (on the pc):
    • If you are on linux/mac:
    • If you are on windows:
      • download and install "winscp" and connect to your raspberry with the raspberry ip
      • copy the folder "raspberry" from your computer to the raspberry in the folder "/home/pi/"
  • On the raspberry, run the installation:
    • Run the following commands in the raspberry (either with your keyboard/screen or by ssh):
      • cd ~/raspberry
      • ./install.sh
    • Wait for the installation to complete (it takes time)
      • the script will automatically download and install all the necessary softwares
      • When installation is complete the raspberry reboots
  • If everything's okay, you can now unplug the keyboard, screen and ethernet cable from the raspberry
  • Enjoy !

NOTES
  • How to change the wifi password of your raspberry:
    • open the file "etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf"
    • replace the field "wpa_passphrase" with your password.
  • How to change the wifi name of your raspberry:
    • open the file "etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf"
    • change the field "ssid".
  • This installation only works with the raspberry 3.
    • if you want to use a raspberry pi 1 or 2 with this, you'll need a wifi dongle.
    • you'll probably have to modify some configuration in "hostapd.conf" to use the proper drivers.
  • Tested and working on:
    • WiiU EUR 5.5.1
    • WiiU USA 5.5.1
    • WiiU JPN 5.5.1
    • Other firmware should work too.
  • You can plug directly the raspberry to your WiiU:
    • but from what I tested you have to use a usb cable with two usb connectors plugged to the WiiU.
    • otherwise it does not supply enough power.
    • the advantage of connecting the raspberry to your WiiU is that it is powered on and powered off automatically.
You can now carry your wiiu everywhere and still use loadiine =).
Hope you like it :)

Good info. Little late though:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/weekend...-use-it-for-self-hosting.425967/#post-6333159

This package has all you need. In one downloadable image. It's compatible with all raspberry pi models. It also includes many other homebrew for wii u.

Ahah I didn't see it =), thanks for the link.
From what I see on the other thread, it uses the ethernet adapter to connect the raspberry to the wiiu, my version uses the wifi directly (it fakes the internet connection test).

Yes, you can use the image and use either ethernet or wifi. Since none of the raspberry pi's 1 -2 come with wifi it's setup for a crossover ethernet connection. Like I said in the OP. I just happen to have all the components already so it was a fun project. It's not really cost effective when you can do the same thing using your android phone.

Oh okay sorry I didn't understand that you could also use the wifi without internet, anyway your version is very neat :) good job.
Don't apologize. You're contribution goes into step by step manual instructions. I didn't bother will all that. I just made an image and uploaded it. It's a great guide! I love it!

So umm, has anyone ever recommended rasberry pi as a personal computer to anyone? I mean i feel better with a windows pc but i kinda do need a desktop pc and don't wanna spend too much to be able to play a decent game on it. Or just use it for pc based stuff that mobile like android can't do.

Better to save some than to get a Pi for your main computer.

For games NES, Game Boy, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo 64, and Playstation emulators all work great, and that's about all you can expect games-wise. For other PC stuff it should be fine for normal web browsing and document editing.
Since it's an ARM processor you have a few Linux options and no Windows options. Maybe Android idk.

I already have my Pi 3 on on my network as a Pi-Hole DNS server and an AirSonos server. In theory, I could install this script and then just go to http://Pi3ip/hax?kexploit10 & http://Pi3ip/hax?loadiine on the wii and it would load the exploits?

EDIT

Or the more I think about it, would the script mess up the web interface of the PI-Hole? It looks like the script would setup the pi as a wifi network which I don't want it to do. Since I'm already running a web interface for Pi-Hole, is there an easy way to host a different page with the exploit? Any assistance getting this setup as another feature on my Pi would be much appreciated.

This method is old. Why not use a DNS instead?

I saw that thread and I messed with it a little bit, but I ran into an issue cuz the Pi-Hole is already running lighttpd for the web interface. I tried setting up the pages to run from that instead of apache, but I would just get the background of that webpage and none of the buttons. My guess is lighttpd doesnt support something that is being used that apache would support. If I knew how to switch everything over to apache and guarantee that the Pi-Hole still worked then I totally would.

As it stands now, I think I have essentially the same thing running, just a stripped down version without all the pretty graphics. Just a button for Loadline and a button for homebrew launcher.
