...I think you guys are missing the point. The mechanics of Brawl weren't "either poorly replicated or ignored" - they weren't replicated at all, it's a game that stands on its own two feet with its own mechanics. It doesn't play like Smash Bros. because that was the intention.

As for the PSMove being a replica of the WiiMote, the development of Move began long before the WiiMote's, in PlayStation 2 days. You might as well go on ahead and say that the WiiMote is a Dreamcast's fishing controller copycat. People are acting as if the WiiMote was the first wand-shaped motion controller and it wasn't - those go back to Atari days.

Things that will make the Vita sell
  • Price cut
  • Games that people like to buy
Things that won't make it sell
  • Every other awful suggestion in this thread
Kinda how I feel.

Not saying that all Vita games are bad, but the overwhelming majority of games for the handheld that do rate well have better versions on other platforms (MK, etc.). I want to see some that take advantage of what there is for the Vita; maybe if Sony shipped over a loaner SDK to Suda51 he could come up with something that would be a lot of fun for it, and actually work. I also don't agree with the design choice of requiring an extra memory card when the games themselves already come on their own cards that use flash memory anyway. There is no technical reason or excuse to why they couldn't set some aside for some save files. While I thought it was silly with the PSP as well, at least that one had the excuse that it was basically a mini-DVD in a proprietary shell, and thus was a ROM disc.

I'd have no qualms picking up one if it were hacked as well, but that's just me... I didn't even really care much for PSP games until after I already was satisfied with all the capable homebrew there was available for the PSP, and the fact that my first Go came with a bunch preloaded already.

Oh gawd... I've got a few of you on my forum
'All-Stars shouldn't be compared to Smash Bros' - as if Sony would've made the game anyway, SUURRE they would! :P
And following up with the Move stuff too - oh lordy! Did you put on your "I am a l33t Sony fan!" cap before you posted that? You'll find most of us know this story by now, but you fail to realize the main point - The Wiimote made motion control popular (and arguably more accessible) to the masses! As a result, you got Move on PS3 because of the Wiimote... Sony wouldn't have really bothered going past the EyeToy stuff otherwise, and M$ wouldn't have even dreamt of Kinect (which might have been a good thing! So yeah thinking about it - DAMN YOU NINTENDO!)
It's common knowledge that Nintendo are wrongly awarded as innovators on many occasions in the past, what they actually do is take a certain idea and make it work (or more importantly, make it sell..)

Yeah, just like they made Virtual Boy work. :tpi:

Seriously though, obviously the popularity of the Wii was a factor when it comes to PSMove's development, however I merely wanted to stress that the PSMove itself was in development before the WiiMote was - companies experiment with various ideas all the time and I don't see anything wrong in taking inspiration from good examples.

If a given idea is known to work, implementing said idea into your product is, in my honest opinion, a good thing and a sign of progress. If not for such innovation being widely accepted we'd end up with a monopoly in various different fields. Imagine if Sony was the only one with a dual analog setup, Nintendo stuck with cartridges to this day and Microsoft would continue using wired controllers - do you think that'd be a good thing? Of course not.

Game-changing innovation should be embraced and it's hard to blame anyone for doing so. All three main players taught each other valuable lessons over the years - Sony contributed with dual analog, the EyeToy and Remote Play, Microsoft showed how a proper Online service should run, Nintendo introduced the contemporary version of the analog stick, aka the "nub" to game controllers - that's of course just the tip of the ice berg, but I'm sure you get my point.

My friend ask me what he can play on the vita, I tell him go and buy 3DS instead.
Did he buy it? :D
Kinda hard to tell people there to buy 3DS instead of vita. They're all about graphics and still stuck with "Nintendo is for kids". They kept buying the vita despite the lack of games.
The only thing I could ever like about the vita is it's ui. (fancy and customizable)

Imho Vita being cracked is what would save it ! :) Ofc along with bringing some good titles to it like guy in video sayed :)

With it being cracked wouldn't exactly save it as publishers would be even less inclined to produce games knowing they are going to get little to no profit

He will buy it, I just know it.
Well, it the same everywhere, if you play COD you are a man, if you play Pokemon you are a child.
And graphic isn't everything, Bejewel with HD 1080 3D graphic will still be Bejewel, it can't make the game better or anything.

True that but many might consider buying vita if it was cracked, and maybe after that consider buying some of the originals aswell if they published some good titles that were actutaly worth spending money.
