Hello everyone. I need help. My son tried to
hacked/Jailbroken our daughters' Wii U and now when they try to play and they turn it on it goes directly to the homebrew launcher when the SD card is in. When we take out the SD card when it turns on the screen goes black and it has a - 3 on the top left corner. Please help if anyone who could help me I can be reached at IG @ 4ever_urs777 or fb @Paula Cortez
Thank you

Just simply select the option named "Mocha CFW" and run it.

You need to edit the config.txt so "default=sysmenu" or you can press Home to change it.

Alternatively, you can just hold B while booting to boot the system menu, but that's cumbersome.
I did run mocha cfw it didn't do anything. It goes back into homebrew

like I said, if it's happening when you turn on the system, it's cbhc. press home when it says autobooting.

OK thanks I'll try it. But how can I get it to go back and load properly??

That was bad advice, since you're running CBHC. Follow the advice @godreborn and I gave you.

Turn off the system and power it on with the SD card. Alternatively, take out the SD card and edit the config manually.

there should be an option for linking it permanently when you press the home menu, but it's been years, so I can't remember exactly.

it doesn't say "autobooting" at all?
It used to. Like yesterday they were playing Mario 3d and today when they went to play it loaded into homebrew and even if you select one of the options it still goes back to homebrew when I press the home button to get out. Now it just loads and says on - 3

-3 means it can't detect the sd card, so it's forcing you to open the homebrew launcher. not sure what to do if you can't use the home button. did you install cbhc with the installer or manually?

The picture in the op only shows Haxchi on the sd card. There is nothing to suggest that cbhc has been installed here....

Iirc holding B when launching Haxchi should boot system menu but this may have changed so I would check the config.txt on the sd card in your pc to see what the fw image/default is set to.

The op says it happens at boot.

So no cbhc then?

Im assuming that since haxchi is still on the sd card then cbhc folder would be also if used. Otherwise, why leave just haxchi on there??

Also, the presence of Mocha suggests a way to boot to cfw as cbhc will do autoboot but that does not display when the console is powered on reading the above.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
