Well, I'm not sure if anybody got banned from this, but just in case I formatted my 3ds to get rid of it. A bit paranoid, I know, but since I haven't been banned I decided to not take any chances.

That's the 2 3ds's method? I tryied using the 1 3ds method, but it just doesn't work, I haven't done any system transfer before though.
Noob question: I don't lose my CFW if I format, right?
Does it delete anything on my SD card ?
That's all they said. they were adamant that I modified the game to get online access since it is impossible before release date . .. wtf. this is a retail cart that I bought!
The 1 3ds method only works if the person has done a system transfer before with the NAND backup they're using. When you think of it, both methods are very similar.
Dude, Nintendo is so fucking stupid. from what I can tell from their support, they will never unban you even if you bought the game early. they state that online access is not possible with retail carts without modifying the game data...
Before doing it you should make a copy of your sd card. If you are using a9lh+luma3ds (I don't know about the others) you won't lose it. But you will have to reinstall all your cias and homebrews, including the FBI, which you will have to inject again via hs method.

Is it even confirmed safe to use a seed that's publicly used by so many people? The whole "it's working right NOW" thing is kind of why we're banned in the first place which is why I'm hesitant to use seeds used by other people.
I downloaded the the leaked copy a week before the release in 18/11 and never went online since then, so i had all the time to beat it and its really fun and better than oras, i guess now is the time to go for online, i hope i don't get banned

The issue here being that if i use someone elses and get hyperbanned for it, I don't think just re-injecting my original banned seed is going to fix that is it

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
