From TN-V setup:
2a) Extract the contents of your downloaded zip file. Place the VHBL01234, TNV, or TNV_00000 folder into your QCMA savedata directory.
Where is the savedata directory? Under C:\Program Files\QCMA there are folders: driver, imageformats, platforms, and sqldrivers. None of these have a 'savedata' folder inside them.

Can anyone help? I feel like every guide out there assumes some basic knowledge which I don't have. There's no true noob guides :-/

Oh, my apologies! The savedata dir is found at C:/Users/USER/PS Vita/SAVEDATA/random-numbers-and-letters/

I will fix the guide when I am back on my PC.

Noobie question: Everything ( henkaku, homebrew, whitelisting, pottential future backups, etc ) that applies to the Vita also applies to the PSTV, right? There are the same hardware except some I/O methods, aren't they?

Also, aside from the few big ones, what is the average size for each vita tittle?

Hi,

Appreciate any help. Do you just need to transfer a game to your vita by ftp and then install with henkaku for it to work? Is it as simple as that?

Cheers!

If it's possible to play official PSOne Classics, will it also be possible to play homemade PSOne Classics, or homemade PSP Classics for that matter?

can any1 help me? can't update manually to 3.60..

I'm using this tut: http://wololo.net/2016/08/09/manually-update-ps-vita-firmware-3-60/

My device gets disconnected whenever I choose to update from PC on the vita..

Many thanks!
You may have more luck with this tutorial: http://wololo.net/2013/04/17/lower-ps-vita-firmwares-for-dummies/

The problem with the QCMA/PC method is that it tends to be a hit-and-miss situation, and things just simply don't work sometimes without a little tweak that's not mentioned in the tutorial.

Again, the guide I linked above is more successful, and that's by my own experience doing both methods in the past as well.

Hope this bit of info helps you!

Having problem with above tut also, it says that the vita cannot connect to the internet.

FIXED: I was using region US on the xml file, I thought my vita's region was from that.. Tried hk as well but to no avail. It was south asia = "sa"..

Hi, how do i prevent an update from 3.60 but still access the internet/browser? Thanks!
No updates are automatically downloaded in the background if you uncheck the checkbox at Settings -> System -> Auto-Start Settings -> DL Update File for Sys. Software.
But that is only for when your Vita starts up...
After that, you are completely free of any auto-updating! (Also, HENkaku mode prevents even connecting to update servers and files.)

I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

never had that i don't think

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
