Good thread guys. How is Gran Turismo compared to its console counterpart?
GT for PSP has the physics of GT5 (not the awful fake physics of GT1-4) and includes a majority of the tracks and cars from GT4, with a couple extra cars from GT5
rologue (might just be Lambos, I don't remember). Drift mode from GT5 is also included. Graphics are top notch. There is a decent training mode with different driving challenges (akin to GT4 prologue), but that is all there is in the way of structured gameplay. Lengthy car descriptions (presumably from GT5) and Jay Leno narration are included.
Downsides:
-No career mode, only 'free play', so to speak. Time trial, drift mode, and some rudimentary racing (VS random opponents of the same class or same make) are all you get.
-All tracks unlocked from jump, and cars must be bought piece-meal from a store that rotates manufacturers (less annoying than it sounds, but more annoying than it should be).
-No option to play with a wheel, obviously.
-No night tracks (Hong Kong, drag strip, etc.)
Overall I like it better than GT4 (minus the fact that you can't use a wheel), though the lack of structured gameplay and absence of GT5
tracks is a bummer.
