If my theory about the Switch being HID compilant is true, then there's a lot of USB controllers out there waiting to be used. But that's just a theory, A CONSOLE theory. Thanks for reading! :D
All this talk about which controllers work has undoubtedly crashed the sales for HORI's upcoming Wired Pro Controller as people will just rather use a controller they own, or purchase an adapter to use it (Mayflash GameCube). :P Too little too late, HORI.

They just should've released it at launch but now that we know about this, nope, there's no point getting that. I honestly did want one but not anymore.

Nintendo probably did not let them release it at launch because it would take sales away from the pro controller

The steam controller is HID compliant, but it doesn't work over usb or bluetooth

Bought a Wavebird GameCube controller today to use on the Switch but the adapter is yet to be dispatched. :-/

Those wavebird controllers are great to play on a backwards compatible Wii. Even more when you use them all four at a time, no wires in the middle of the battle, call it Mario Party or Smash Bros.

I've enjoyed those playing sessions a lot with the four wavebirds connected...

As for the Switch, don't own one (yet), as they're pretty expensive here, about USD $500, no way I'll pay that much for a console... I'm not stupid. When prices drop I'll consider getting one.

Yout thinking that's even possible in the country of nothing happens? Pffff. You're better off to get one from Asia : http://www.play-asia.com/nintendo-s...m=default-widget&li_source=LI&ref=liftigniter
I get the myflash adapter there, and I bet it's cheaper than in Mexico despite also being charged for shipping.

By the way, I just discovered that the Switch is not Hid compliant after all.

That's strange. You'd think that any and all GameCube controller would work by default but as you've tested.. nope.

The Silver GameCube Wavebird looks really nice but I already own the grey one and was reasonably cheap so not gonna bother with another one. :P

Hello again guys. Late Shift had me crazy. Anyways, Mayflash just contacted me and responded the following
Hi A
Ours [GameCube Adapter] only supports the official GC controller, we can not make sure for 3rd parties. Sorry.

Best regards,
Mayflash service team

I recently ordered the Ferrari Challenge 2 Driving Wheel so while Mayflash has put that statement out, I still hope that it works as I bought it intentionally to use on the Switch.

14GBP on ebay for the adapter. I bought one. I'd love to be able to use the ps3 navigation controllers on the switch.

I got it for around £13ish. I'm just glad I got it and it works as it should. :)

You guys reckon you can plug controller adapters into the Mayflash adapter? Like a SNES -> Gamecube adapter into the Mayflash adapter to use your SNES controller on Switch? I want to try it out but I'm worried that the controller won't get enough power and/or input lag up the ass because of too much plugging going on.

Into this Mayflash adapter? Not likely unless you have a converter to make it compatible as a GC controller port.

Yeah that's what I meant. Raphnet offers an adapter that connects your SNES controller, or any controller pretty much, to your Gamecube. I'm thinking of getting that, but the last adapter of theirs took a month to get here, so I won't be able to share results for quite some time.

I have mayflash wii u pro controller to usb for my laptop. it works pretty well. it syncs immediately unlike the 360 receiver I have for xbox 360 controllers where u have to minimize the game to resync.

I've just received the Thrustmaster Ferrari Driving Wheel and it's not compatible with the Mayflash GameCube adapter, and another thing, I didn't expect the wheel to be so small but hey it's fun to use anyway on GameCube. :)

UPDATE:
I finally found a device that allows you to use Xbox 360/Xbox One Controllers on the Switch (There is also one that works with the PS3/PS4)
It is called Brook Super Converter for the Wii U. Now I haven't bought one yet but I have seen this video From My Mate Vince and according to their website This will be able to work with third party controllers. I will place an order in the next couple of days to be able to use my fightstick for USF2 and for Pokken Tournament DX. Now for me the switch will be my final console

THat's definetely better but not yet perfect. If an update fixes the analogue sticks, it'll be perfect, as i'd say alot of homes have 360 controllers and ps3 controllers (I myself have 4 of both)

Not likely, they probably emulate the Pokken controller: I have the mayflash and when I use the right stick, it maps to ZL and Minus, for some reason.

This could simply be fixed with an update to the device that enables the usage of the controllers, since they are updatable in the first place.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
