My stick's almost full, it'd take over an hour to back up everything, then I'd test and spend another hour putting it back on.

No thanks.
It only taks 8MB and you dont have to take any thing off your card

Hm. Not sure if these speeds for the Pro Duo are normal.

Thanks for that, it looks like Micro SDHC Cards are a lot faster I thought the memory stick pro duo would be faster I wonder if the pro duo adapters with Micro SDHC Cards would be faster than the memory stick

Yeah, Sony's standard isn't exactly the best, but this is Sony we're talking about, they'll keep requiring it to make sure that if you buy a card for their device, they're getting some of that profit as well.

The adapters can cause various issues since they aren't magicgate, they work about as well as a fake in that regard.

Just buy a standard stick for the love of fuck.

So much for that idea I got it from K Mart, I did as you suggested and it turned out to be a fake but I tested it out at the counter first, lucky I had a 2GB genuine one to compare it with to show them

Sony sticks are a terrible choice...you should be getting the faster Sandisk Ultra II Pro Duo range...

They are even harder to get in Brisbane Australia than the Sony

I'm not so sure I'd recommend that. My 4GB Ultra II that I was using in my PSP3K had problems with a few games - LBP and GoW:GoS in particular would both have conniption fits when they tried to play movies, and loading those games was excruciatingly slow. Sure the memory stick was fast, but a fat lot of good it did my PSP. I ultimately replaced it with a 16GB Lexar, which while slower on paper has perfect compatibility.

...and Lexar sticks are notoriously bad....sure they're fast but they have all manner of issues with IPL partitioning and plugins.

The Ultra II range is the fastest guaranteed stick speeds you can get.
