Hacking DSTWO update prompt won't appear

I've been trying to update my friends DSTWO but the prompt doesn't appear, it just goes straight to menu. I've tried different micro SD's and even my DSTWO, the update prompt does appear on my DSTWO.

Maybe you have to clean the contacts of the microsd. Does the DSTWO read the EOS? Do both DSTWOs have the same icon?

Both have the Alex Rider icon on my DSi XL and his DSi, but when I load my friends DSTWO on the two DSi's I get "An error has occurred....". My friends DSTWO card only reads the EOS on a DS Lite but the update prompt wont appear, the files are set up properly since when I use my DSTWO card with the same micro SD mine does gets the update prompt.

Try to clean the contacts of the DSTWO and the MicroSD.
