Hardware Do you think the Switch will have a console after this (Like the 3ds and wii u)

This is something I have always noticed with Nintendo. After buying their handhelds (always) first like the DSi or such, the Wii came out. Then with the 3DS the Wii U came out and now we have the Nintendo Switch. A console hybrid between a hand held and a gaming system, however like all consoles (GB, GBC, GBA, DS, DSI... , and 3DS.) No one knows what Nintendo will do next.

Personally, I believe Nintendo won't make the Switch a "handheld" and then make a new console right after that. However I can see why people may still have their doubts since they follow their own formula for handheld gaming and non-portable systems.

Just looking for other peoples opinions... And because people were extremely curious how the PS3 and Switch pared up in my previous thread with various results.

They will always make a new system. But there may be a hardware revision like the 3ds had before any new system is made.

It really depends on how the Switch fares commercially. If it fails then Nintendo will either come up with a new gimmick or go third party. If it's a success then they'll probably create a new hybrid system in a few years time.

The Switch's price point is too high to make a revision unless that revision is cheaper than what the Switch is now.
Nintendo might go down the route of making dedicated portable and console variants though for people who are more interested in having a dedicated handheld or a dedicated console.

I'm happy I didn't buy a PS4 because now the PS4 Pro exists. It's not a matter of never buying new hardware but waiting until the time is right to get the best hardware revision. I do intend on buying a PS4 Pro but right now I've got a huge backlog of games to play and don't think it is logical for me to pick up new hardware at this point in time.

Idk your question kinda doesnt make sense.
Just about ever system has had an upgrade. the ps to ps2,3 ,4. Xbox to 360 to one. etc..
ds to to dsi was not an upgrade but more of an add on.
ds to 3ds was an upgrade.

Now with the switch.
I think there will be an upgrade in some years. It happens with everything.
Now i think your asking if it will go handheld or home system.
Well it cant go either way.

It has to stay what it is in order to be an upgrade to the switch.
I believe there will be one which will probably be faster hardware. Maybe a bigger better screen. Different design dock.

Doesn't it just use an off the shelf AC adapter? For trolling that's a pretty low hanging fruit.

That being said, I don't see any reason for them to NOT come out with a console-only "Switch TV." R&D would be minimal as they are just stripping out the display and shoving what's left into a shell, and they can sell it for a little cheaper by saving on tablet-mode components and only including a Pro controller in the box.

1, I'm not trolling anyone, it's truth. And 2, no... Even the Switch uses a 5v, 15v switching power supply. Hence there are no generic equivalents yet.
