With smartphones getting more and more fragile with every iteration, yet focusing on good form factor more than ever before, it's a tough choice for a lot of people whether or not they want to sacrifice their form factor to protect their "investment". Do you put a case on it and why or why not? If you do get a case do you go for full protection or sleek and slim?

I put a sleek case on my LG G3, because a few weeks ago I had it break from a 2 ft drop and I don't want to shell out another 150 to fix it. But previously I probably would have said no.

I usualy have the official galaxy s6 wallet flip case on my s6, but the corners holding the phone is starting to break, so i might need a new one. tbh i tink the case adds about 30-40% weight to the phone (so instead of 200g its about 250g)

Seeing as Motorola sells really nice flip cases for most of their phones I almost always end up getting one. My old Moto G survived 12+ falls to the ground from considerable height thanks to such cases and still works to this date without any damage to its touchscreen.

Day to day I don't use a case on my 1+1 but use a tempered glass screen protector. I work in an office so don't see the need for one. I use a tpu case when I'm at a busy place like a museum exhibition or wedding.

I roll phoneless because I am cool that way but if I did then I would favour
a) Not dropping my phone -- climb enough walls/work up high enough and you tend to learn things to not drop items.
b) a phone model where the screen costs £10 or so to replace -- I have the relevant tools, time and talent to replace them, might as well make the item cost as cheap as possible.

Being 15, me and my friends are reckless (I'm careful about my phone and stuff, though). And my friends usually end up breaking my phones. So my last phone I got an HTC one m8, since it's a good phone is pretty durable, and an otter box. This new phone I went for the most powerful phone they had in store so I got a note 5. Super flimsy. I got an otterbox, but.... my friend throws me on the grass and I roll off the curb in order to get up quickly and throw him down and my camera lens breaks in my pocket. Forever, since phones will keep getting more more fragile, will I have a case on my phone. All phones had cases, just the others had bad cases, this one had an expensive one and still broke.

Tl;dr: yes.

Nope. Pretty much the same reason as emigre (though I don't even bother with a tempered glass screen protector), I work in an office environment so even if I did drop my phone it wouldn't do any serious damage. Plus, the Note Edge is actually insanely durable, so even when I do drop it there's been virtually no damage. It's slipped out of hoodie pockets multiple times onto various surfaces, concrete and tile mostly, and still nothing.

I don't like cases, they make phones uncomfortable.
I've had a Nexus 4, supposedly a very fragile phone, for a long time.
I've dropped it several times and it didn't break, until I happened to drop it on the street with some unexpected violence.
Even then, finding the part to change and changing it myself was easy and... not exactly cheap, but not expensive either.
I think this phone has lived enough anyway.

TL;DR: I don't find phones so fragile and I prefer them easy on the hand.

Yes, I have always used a case for my handheld devices. For my iPhone 5S I have a black Otterbox case. It's a plain case, but I'm not going to complain since it was a gift. I even have a case for my 3DS but it's mostly there so I can paint on it without painting on the actual system.

I have a flexible rubber case on my Alcatel OT Idol X, although I don't have much confidence in it. I don't worry about drops because I usually keep it in my jeans or else it's tethered to a headphone cable, but I do keep the case in the event that it does drop, at least the screen will have a chance to live, and the phone's case won't get scratched to all hell. The most that the phone has for damages (Besides the faulty antenna) is cosmetic scratches from dust and built up dirt in some places. Same with my Samsung Ace II X, although its case was falling apart so I had to get rid of it. I might look for another case for that phone in case I need to use it as a backup phone again.

My phone is pretty thin, so it'd probably break easily, so yes I keep a case on it most of the time, with some exceptions like at home, and I don't want it on at that moment, I'll take it off. My case is pretty bulky and it's good for when I drop it.

Do you put a case on it and why or why not? If you do get a case do you go for full protection or sleek and slim?

I pretty much always have. I would rather spend $10 or $20 replacing a case rather than hundreds replacing a phone. I usually get a cheap rubber case that covers the entire phone. The rubber should protect against dropping and if you can find the right one, doesn't make the phone unusable. The case I had for a Nexus 4 was probably my favorite. It covered everything but the screen and was very light and added almost nothing to the thickness of the phone. My current one is pretty bulky, but it doesn't get in the way. I don't use a screen protector. From my experience they tend to make the screen harder to use, and just don't have the same feel.

I have noticed, with the phones getting bigger, that my phone spends less time in my pocket and more time sitting on the desk.

You know what they say.

Simple solution... Throw your phone in a river. Fuck that phone, it was shit anyway. Buy an old Nokia. That shit's a mini tank. No case needed.

Jokes aside, I would probably make the shittiest looking, yet effective, case. Bubble wrap, hard ass plastic, aluminum, and duct tape.

they need to have a strong line up on the launch titles too. I think they should move metroid prime 4 to the next console because by now it has been quite a while and there's no release date scheduled yet
