Look, none of us need this kind of bullsh!t. If you have nothing constructive to say or can't contribute in any way, I would suggest that you say nothing at all. Seriously. And we wonder why we can never have nice things. :glare:

I really think you should have this thread locked and update the first page when needed too. There is already another page where people can discuss the game.

As a matter of fact, a huge update was to come. We had a rather big file completely translated.

But when saved, the program crashed and the Translation was lost in the process.
This happened twice, since then we are waiting for the response of the programmer to see what exactly is going wrong.

ohh... sorry to hear :( but i know you guys can do it :yay:

Registered just to say how much I appreciate you guys for translating this game. I'm a die hard digimon fan since Digimon 1 is on the market. I dont even have PSP yet but if this translation is up then I gonna buy one, and yeah just for this game.

If U guys need any help, don't be shy to ask. Although I can't do japanese, I might be able to edit image or some other coding/programming if U guys using some Java/C++ like script.

And I can only say I'm ROOTING for you guys to finish it.
TQ. :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

If everybody was able to pitch in a few dollars, we could raise enough money to buy some Japanese children from sweatshops to do the translation for us!!!

counting takes time
cant be wasting time

will update when other translators get back to me
Indeed. In my 6 years here, when it comes to translation projects, it's best to be quiet and let the translators work on their stuff. Every second spent updating the community on progress is a second not spent on translation work.

Sounds utilitarian, but as they always say, "It's done when it's done"

What? Unless every single member is working on it every minute of every hour for the entire day and not taking any breaks (Which no one does) thats a stupid excuse.

You know how long it takes to get on a forum and make a simple status update? Yeah me either, because its too low to bother counting.

Simple status update? You mean something like "We're somewhere between 50% to 100%, or less than 30% or perhaps 70% to 100% completed going on a rough estimate with 33% uncertainty"? A rough estimate is their best guess. You know why?

Because quantifying progress takes time.

Which is the entire basis of my argument here.

Sure, making a simple forum post takes a minute or two. Perhaps less. But guess, what, going through the entire translation data base to quantify progress, let alone estimate, takes a shit load of time. If all you want is an estimate, then you can expect a very rough, inaccurate estimate. In which case, what's the fucking point? To make yourself feel happy?

Allow me to crush your next point.

Naturally and intuitively, we can expect the translation team not to spend every single second of their day working on the translation project. That's a given, and pointing that out is asinine.

Further, asking the translation team to quantify progress to update the rest of the community is asking them to do something laborious. Naturally, I expect you have never undertaken a translation project and have no idea how laborious quantifying progress is. To be fair, I give you the benefit of the doubt.

Thing is, translation work is tough, boring and time consuming. Quantifying progress is similar. How do you accurately quantify progress, anyway? Going by the number of completed lines? Granted, all lines vary drastically in length so quantifying progress based on that would be inaccurate. Going by the number of letters? That's dumb and even more time consuming.

The whole basis of your argument is that it takes less than 5 minutes to make a forum post.

And right you are. You failed to take into consideration the time and effort taken to quantify progress however. A large mistake on your part.

Conclusion: You have not put a lot of thinking into your post. Given that you're a very new member and that asinine post of yours was likely your 5th ever, that is excusable. I hope you put in more effort into your posts in future. It reflects your character and your intelligence.

If you fail to accept your defeat, and wish to carry on arguing with me, be my guest. I'll be waiting. Make my day.
