thanks.is it too much too ask but instead of deciding which digimon names and attack should be either localized or japanese, but cant you just make both. it will makes the 16% of the fans slightly happy. besides i dont think its too much work to create 2 versions of this patch by just having different digimon names. its just an idea since romstar looks like a dedicated digimon fan, he might as well make all digimon fans happy.
( i prefer japanese but i like the name galantmon than dukemon anyday just sayin)
Actually this is a nice idea and will be definitely considered.
It does if people are thinking this is our work indeed. It sheds a bad reputation on us.
People may do whatever they want. They can provide as many patches as they like but we are distancing ourselves clearly from these patches.
I read through the source topic as did pong. And it was not distinct enough which is why pong even posted there.
the video of the fake patch has been removed!
hey i just created an account to say thank god for you people doing this! =)
one question though, does this patch mean i need to buy the japanese game first? (sry if this is dumb or been asked before)

You don't HAVE to.. As you might now, there are always other ways of obtaining a game.
It is up to the user which one they will choose.
Be it through buying and copying, PSN Download, or any way your prefer.
We don't judge, we don't care, we are not responsible for this point.
In any case we are going to release just a patch, so it is up to the user where and how they get the game.
Romsstar meant to also say that if and when you do buy it, over the PSN preferably, then in future there's a far higher chance that Digimon games in the future will get translations done naturally and you'll see Western releases.
NOT buying it, if you love the games, is counter productive to your future enjoyment.....just don't buy random crap for a few weeks.
lol yeah i hear that. how would i buy an import over psn in america though?
I might not be a too wellversed in how PSN works but I do doubt that when they tally sales they don't research where the sale was made especially if it didn't get a western release. I would think they'd just tally the sale as coming from the PSN. Which is good for getting other Digimon games released but won't do anything in having a game come out to the west or not.lol yeah i hear that. how would i buy an import over psn in america though?
You start a Japanese PSN/SEN account, buy it, then decrypt it.
If people are THIS keen on a translation, then buying just THIS one game isn't going to kill them and will send a message about what people want (download IP's will be logged...)
Honestlypirates...er...people, if you support the things you love you end up getting more of what you love in the future and not less of it...
I could be wrong if you have any evidence to the contrary i'd love to see it.
Anyway tl;dr I appreciate what you are doing, I just don't appreciate the way your doing it...
While I do support the idea of people buying games to support them, I don't support the idea of misinformation to support games, no matter how much you want the game to succeed. I would suggest a better course of action would be mailing the companies in question and ask them for a translation. The more people that mail these companies the stronger a voice we are.
If you want to support the developers by also buying a Japanese version of the game surely go for it this post and the previous one are not to discourage that and good job for supporting the developers. I just don't think that we should spread false hope through (What I'm pretty sure is) misinformation. Like I said I might be wrong but I am positive that buying the Japanese version of a game will help a localization happen. I mean has there ever been an official localization thanks to import? I know it used to happen in the early days of fansubbing Anime (Azumanga Daioh) and the Phoenix Wright series might have also been picked up (though this was also helped by an in game Englsh version). But one is a different buisiness and the other had concrete numbers which doesn't involve spending massive amounts on researching IP adresses (Does Namco/Bandai even have acces to information that happens in Sony's store?)

PSP is dead on occident dude.... is out of the market here and if the company doess the translation, it will be for PS Vita and it may be to buy on PSN and many of the people don't have that, and either way, piracy or not piracy, is good what these people are doing here, whatever if it's in a bad way or not, that's why some of the translator get sick of this comments and stop translating games, and btw, what about the localization of Final Fantasy type-0? they didn't do nothing, and all the billions of mails sent to square enix were ignored, and now there is no news about the localization since january 2012, so what you say makes no difference, and yes, people from occident bought the japanese and they still do and still nothing, same thing happened with kingdom hearts 2 final mix++ people were supporting the legal localization and square enix said "no it's exclusive for japan" so that made truthkey which he translated the game, and so on with KH birth by sleep Final Mix, a years before it happened with Tales of phantasia for psp, no localization since PSX :/ only for GBA, and so on with Bandai games, like Tales of the innocence for DS, .Hack//Fragment for PS2 Bandai kept many games for Japan, so i dunno about you, but i support this translation from these guys, if you don't like that man, well...... just ignore this post dude, and make others to support legal copyrights that may agree with you,
don't missunderstand, i like your idea, i would follow it if the companies would listen, but it's hard to convince the companies to localize the games, cuz when japan says no it's no, they are so stubborn.
