Deadpool Director to work on Sonic the Hedgehog movie
As reported earlier, Sega has been working on a 'live-action and animation hybrid' movie featuring the Blue Blur. In an exclusive article by The Hollywood Reporter, it has been revealed that Deadpool director Tim Miller will act as the executive producer while Jeff Fowler (director and co-founder of trailer specialists Blur Studio) will make his debut as director for the movie. Joining them is Neal H. Moritz (from the Fast and Furious franchise), who is producing the adaptation, while the script writing will be handled by Patrick Casey and Josh Miller, who created Golan the Insatiable.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Tim Miller added:“Jeff is an incredible director with strong story instincts. The world of Sonic presents the perfect opportunity for him to leverage his experience in animation to bring new dimension to this iconic character.”
So there we have it! Some big shots working on the world's most famous hedgehog 'live-action and animation hybrid' movie. Will they be able to finally break the curse of mediocre video game movie adaptation?
